### **General Information** Ref \# 2600009M Location Qatar\-Doha Job family Engineering * Closing Date: 2026\-08\-02 ### **Description** **About the Role:** The **Senior Manager Technical Services** is accountable for leading Engineering’s operational support, Design Organisation Approval (DOA), and fleet support functions, ensuring continuous airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. The role provides 24/7 engineering leadership for aircraft operational events, repairs, modifications, concessions, and deferred defects, while driving fleet performance through predictive maintenance and proactive reliability improvement initiatives. **Accountabilities include, but not limited to:** **Strategic** * Define and deliver the fleet engineering strategy to ensure safety, airworthiness, compliance, and long\-term operational resilience. * Provide technical governance and oversight for fleet engineering decisions and risk management. * Drive fleet performance improvement through aligned engineering objectives, programs, and KPIs. * Build strategic relationships with OEMs, MROs, and external partners to enhance fleet support and readiness. * Develop organizational capability, leadership succession, and cost\-effective fleet support solutions. **Operational** * Lead and continuously improve a 24/7 Technical Services organization providing operational engineering support across Structures, Systems, Avionics, Cabin, and Reliability disciplines. * Ensure rapid response and resolution of operational technical issues, aircraft\-on\-ground (AOG) events, deferred defects, repairs, and modifications. * Act as the primary Engineering interface with the Engineering Operations Centre (EOC), OEMs, MROs, and external stakeholders during operational events. * Coordinate engineering approvals, deviation documentation, operational concessions, ferry flight support, and MEL\-related activities. * Maintain oversight of technical quality, regulatory compliance, turnaround times, and service delivery across all Technical Services activities. * Establish effective communication, shift handovers, and operational governance processes to ensure fleet awareness and issue escalation. * Support long\-term fleet reliability improvements through close collaboration with Airbus and Boeing fleet engineering teams. **Fleet Support \& Resource Management** * Develop a flexible, multi\-disciplinary fleet support team capable of responding to operational priorities, projects, and workload peaks. * Establish prioritization frameworks to ensure resources are focused on critical operational and engineering requirements. * Implement training and development programs to broaden engineering capability across multiple technical disciplines. **Design Organisation Approval (DOA)** * Lead and develop Qatar Airways’ Part 21J Design Organisation Approval capability, ensuring full regulatory compliance and strategic growth. * Manage external DOA partnerships and ensure contractual service levels are achieved. * Drive the development of internal DOA capabilities to support operational and commercial objectives. * Ensure accurate assessment and communication of damage findings to OEMs and approved design organizations. **Predictive Maintenance** * Lead the establishment and development of predictive maintenance capabilities across Engineering. * Drive the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance through data\-driven decision making. * Ensure predictive models and reliability tools identify emerging failures before operational impact. * Coordinate with Supply Chain, MROs, and the EOC to ensure effective execution of predictive maintenance actions. * Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to maintain best\-in\-class predictive maintenance practices. **Safety, Compliance \& Reliability** * Ensure all operational engineering activities comply with CAMO requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies. * Monitor reliability performance, identify systemic risks, and implement corrective actions. * Lead engineering contributions to safety, compliance, audit, and continuous airworthiness objectives. * Escalate significant reliability concerns and support long\-term corrective action programs. **Continuous Improvement \& Performance Management** * Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, trend monitoring, and root cause investigations. * Partner with Engineering and Operational teams to improve fleet availability, dispatch reliability, and operational efficiency. * Define, monitor, and report performance metrics that support departmental and business objectives. **Leadership \& People Management** * Lead, coach, and develop a high\-performing multidisciplinary engineering team. * Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, and knowledge sharing. * Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. * Support national talent development programs through coaching and mentoring future leaders. * Ensure teams are empowered, aligned, and accountable for achieving performance and delivery objectives. ### **Qualification**
