Senior Draftman

We are currently looking to recruit a technically strong and experienced Senior Draftsman who can independently prepare and coordinate complete interior and architectural technical drawing packages from design development through construction and final as\-built documentation. Candidate We Are Looking For We are looking for a highly experienced, detail\-oriented Senior Draftsman with strong practical experience in: · Interior fit\-out · Interior design · Architectural detailing · Construction drawings · Joinery detailing · Shop drawings · MEP coordination · As\-built drawings The candidate must have excellent AutoCAD skills and should be capable of producing technically accurate and buildable drawings with minimal supervision. Candidates with strong interior fit\-out / design \& build experience will be preferred. Preferred Experience · Minimum 8\-10 years of relevant drafting experience. · Oman or GCC experience preferred. · Experience in commercial interiors, offices, hospitality, retail, or luxury residential projects. · Experience coordinating drawings with site teams, designers, consultants, and subcontractors. · Ability to independently handle complete drawing packages. Preferred Qualification · Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. Strong practical drafting and detailing experience is more important than qualification alone. Key Responsibilities The Senior Draftsman will be responsible for: · Preparing detailed architectural and interior drawings. · Preparing construction / working drawings. · Preparing shop drawings. · Preparing detailed joinery drawings. · Preparing furniture layouts. · Preparing partition layouts. · Preparing flooring layouts. · Preparing reflected ceiling plans. · Preparing wall elevations. · Preparing sections and detailed sections. · Preparing door and finish schedules. · Coordinating drawings with MEP services. · Updating drawings based on site conditions. · Preparing accurate as\-built drawings. · Reviewing subcontractor shop drawings. · Managing revisions and drawing updates. · Maintaining drawing registers and CAD standards. · Supporting Project Managers and Project Engineers with technical clarifications. · Supporting junior draftsmen where required. Technical Drawing Experience Required The candidate should be strong in preparing: · General arrangement plans. · Furniture layouts. · Partition layouts. · Reflected ceiling plans. · Flooring plans. · Lighting coordination layouts. · Power/data coordination drawings. · Interior elevations. · Sections. · Detailed construction sections. · Joinery drawings. · Decorative details. · Glass details. · Metalwork details. · Door details. · Setting\-out drawings. · As\-built drawings. Joinery Experience Strong joinery detailing knowledge is highly preferred. The candidate should understand how to prepare drawings showing: · Plans. · Elevations. · Sections. · Internal construction. · Material thickness. · Veneer/laminate/finish. · Hardware. · Edge details. · Fixing details. · Site interfaces. The candidate should understand practical fabrication requirements and not only prepare visual drawings. MEP Coordination The candidate must have good working knowledge of coordination with: · Electrical. · Lighting. · HVAC. · Plumbing. · Fire alarm. · Firefighting. · Data. · CCTV. · Access control. · AV. · Automation. The candidate should be able to identify clashes between interior design and MEP drawings before drawings are issued to site. Site Coordination The Senior Draftsman may be required to visit sites to: · Verify dimensions. · Take site measurements. · Check ceiling heights. · Confirm structural elements. · Check doors and windows. · Verify existing services. · Review discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions. The candidate must understand that site verification is essential before finalising critical drawings. Drawing Quality The candidate must have strong attention to: · Dimensions. · Levels. · Material references. · Finish codes. · Drawing scales. · Sections. · Construction details. · Junction details. · Drawing references. · Revision control. · Coordination between related drawings. We are looking for someone who can identify technical problems before they result in rework at site. Software Skills Mandatory: · Advanced AutoCAD skills. Preferred additional knowledge: · Revit. · SketchUp. · BIM coordination tools. · PDF markup/review software. · Microsoft Office. The candidate must be fast, accurate, and highly proficient in AutoCAD. Required Technical Knowledge The candidate should have strong understanding of: · Interior fit\-out construction. · Joinery construction. · Ceiling systems. · Gypsum partitions. · Flooring. · Tiles and marble. · Wall finishes. · Glass works. · Metal works. · Doors and hardware. · Furniture. · MEP coordination. · Construction detailing. · Material specifications.
