With continued investment in international expansion, they are looking to strengthen their commercial trading team by appointing an experienced Senior Commodities Trader who can develop strategic markets, build long-term supplier and customer relationships, and drive profitable growth across the region.
About the Role
We are seeking a commercially driven Senior Commodities Trader with proven experience in pulses and lentils trading . This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing international trade transactions, monitoring market trends, and building strategic partnerships across the GCC, India, and the Indian Subcontinent. Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in expanding the company's trading portfolio while ensuring successful execution of international trading activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and expand trading activities across the GCC, India, and the Indian Subcontinent.
• Lead the buying and selling of pulses and lentils while identifying opportunities to grow additional commodity lines.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, and strategic partners.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities and emerging markets.
• Negotiate commercial contracts and manage transactions through to successful execution and payment.
• Monitor commodity prices, market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and commercial risks.
• Work closely with logistics, finance, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth trade execution.
• Manage purchase and sales contracts in compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to support business growth and strategic decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement across trading and operational processes.
• Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience trading pulses and lentils is essential.
• Experience within international commodity trading.
• Strong understanding of international trade operations, pricing, logistics, and commercial risk management.
• Demonstrated success negotiating with international suppliers and customers.
• Excellent commercial acumen and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple international trading activities simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the GCC, India, and international markets.
• Arabic and/or Hindi language skills would be highly advantageous.
• Experience conducting business across GCC and Indian markets is highly desirable.
