Job description

BIM • Coordinate with the BIM Manager / BIM Lead / BIM Coordinator to ensure that architectural technical requirements are properly reflected in the BIM workflow and project digital deliverables. • Provide architectural technical input to support BIM coordination, model development, clash review, and construction-stage coordination. • Review BIM-generated outputs from an architectural and constructability perspective, including coordinated plans, sections, details, schedules, and 3D views where required. • Ensure that architectural shop drawings extracted from BIM models are technically correct, coordinated with site requirements, and aligned with the latest approved information. • Support the resolution of coordination issues identified through BIM reviews, particularly where architectural interfaces are affected by structure, MEP, façade, ID, or specialist trades. • Attend BIM coordination meetings when architectural decisions, constructability matters, or technical clarifications are required. • Ensure that architectural team comments and decisions are properly communicated to the BIM team for model updates and coordination follow-up. • Coordinate with subcontractors and specialist suppliers to ensure their BIM-related inputs are aligned with the approved architectural design, shop drawings, material submittals, and site execution requirements. • Support the BIM Manager in validating that architectural deliverables are aligned with the project’s BIM execution requirements, without taking ownership of BIM management responsibilities. • Use BIM outputs as a coordination and decision-support tool to improve technical clarity, reduce site conflicts, and support timely approvals. • Escalate critical architectural coordination risks identified through BIM reviews to the Technical Office Manager and BIM Manager for action and resolution. Engineering 1. Leadership • Lead and manage the architectural technical office team, including Architects, BIM Modelers, and Draftsmen. • Distribute tasks, monitor team productivity, and ensure deliverables are submitted according to project priorities and approved schedules. • Review architectural technical outputs before submission to the Technical Office Manager, consultant, or client. 2. Coordination with Consultants, Subcontractors & Internal Teams • Lead architectural coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams. • Coordinate with structural and MEP teams to resolve interdisciplinary conflicts. • Coordinate with procurement to ensure architectural materials, finishes, and long-lead items are aligned with approved drawings and specifications. 3. RFIs, CVIs, Variations & Technical Clarifications • Lead the preparation and review of architectural RFIs, CVIs, technical queries, and clarification sketches. • Ensure RFIs are technically clear, contractually traceable, and supported with sketches, references, and recommended solutions where required. 4. Materials, Mock-Ups & Procurement Support • Review architectural material submittals, technical submittals, samples, and mock-up requirements. • Ensure selected materials and finishes comply with project specifications, approved drawings, authority requirements, and design intent. • Coordinate with procurement for technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors. 5. CDE Compliance • Ensure all architectural submissions are properly prepared, reviewed, numbered, and issued through the approved project CDE such as Asite, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or any client-mandated platform. • Ensure engineering documents are exchanged through the approved internal and external submission workflows. 6. Site Technical Support • Provide technical support to site engineers and construction teams during execution. • Resolve architectural site issues related to drawings, details, interfaces, materials, finishes, and coordination with other trades. • Conduct site visits to verify technical compliance with approved shop drawings and specifications. • Support QA/QC inspections by providing technical clarification and reviewing non-conformance issues related to architectural works. • Assist in resolving NCRs, site observations, consultant comments, and quality-related architectural issues. • Ensure that the latest approved drawings and technical documents are available to the site team. Monitor architectural work progress from a technical perspective and highlight risks that may impact approvals, procurement, or construction progress Managerial & Soft Skills • Strong leadership and team management capability. • Excellent communication and coordination skills. • Ability to manage pressure, deadlines, consultant comments, and site priorities. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Ability to mentor and develop architects and technical staff. • Strong reporting, documentation, and follow-up skills. • Commercial awareness related to variations, procurement, quantities, and cost impact. • Ability to negotiate technical solutions with consultants and subcontractors. • High accountability, ownership, and attention to detail. Qualifications & Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from a recognized university. • Master’s Degree, professional certification, or UAE authority experience is an advantage. • Minimum 8 - 15 years of experience in architectural technical office work, preferably with main contracting companies. • Minimum 3 years in a leadership or package lead role on large-scale building projects. • Strong experience in UAE construction projects, consultant coordination, authority requirements, and contractor-side technical delivery. • Experience in high-rise, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, or large-scale developments is preferred. • Villa-only experience is not sufficient unless supported by strong large-scale project exposure. • Strong knowledge of architectural construction detailing and technical coordination. • Strong understanding of IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and contract documents. • Advanced knowledge of shop drawing production and review. • Strong command of: “AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM coordination workflows, MS Office, PDF markup/review tools, CDE platforms such as Asite, Aconex, ACC, or equivalent” • Good knowledge of UAE authority requirements, building codes, accessibility requirements, fire life safety coordination, and local construction practices. • Strong understanding of architectural interfaces with structure, MEP, façade, ID, landscape, and specialist systems. • Ability to review and coordinate LOD 300–400 BIM models. • Ability to assess constructability, sequencing, tolerances, waterproofing interfaces, façade interfaces, finishes, and site execution risks. • Strong understanding of material approvals, mock-ups, method statements, inspection requirements, and QA/QC documentation.
