Senior Accountant

**Job Title: Senior Accountant****Job Summary:** We are looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented **Senior Accountant** to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reviewing accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting monthly and year\-end closing, and providing reliable financial information to management. **Key Responsibilities:*** Manage and review day\-to\-day accounting transactions and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system. * Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and adjustments. * Handle monthly, quarterly, and year\-end closing activities. * Prepare and review financial reports and management reports. * Perform bank, customer, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations. * Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable balances and follow up on outstanding items. * Review project\-related costs, expenses, revenues, and supporting documentation. * Monitor project accounting and ensure proper allocation of costs to the relevant projects. * Assist in monitoring project profitability, cost variances, and financial performance. * Support WIP (Work in Progress) accounting and project cost reporting. * Review subcontractor, supplier, and project\-related invoices and ensure proper accounting treatment. * Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis when required. * Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable IFRS requirements. * Coordinate with other departments regarding financial and accounting matters. * Support external auditors during audit processes and provide required schedules and supporting documents. * Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned by the Chief Accountant/ Finance Manager. **Requirements:*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * **Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.** * **Mandatory: Previous experience in a construction/contracting company. Candidates without contracting/construction industry experience will not be considered.** * **Bilingual: Excellent Arabic and English communication skills, both written and spoken, are mandatory.** * Strong knowledge of project accounting, project costing, WIP, and project profitability. * Good understanding of accounting principles and IFRS. * Strong experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and month\-end closing. * Experience with ERP/accounting systems. * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * **Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience working with multiple projects simultaneously. * Experience in construction, civil works, infrastructure, MEP, maintenance, landscaping, or other contracting activities. * Experience with project costing, subcontractors, WIP, retention, advance payments, and project profitability. * Professional accounting certification or progress toward a professional qualification is an advantage. **Employment Type:** Full\-time**Location:** Kuwait Interested candidates are requested to submit their updated CV, clearly highlighting their **construction/contracting industry experience and relevant project accounting experience**.**Important:** Both **contracting/construction industry experience and bilingual Arabic/English proficiency are mandatory requirements** for this position.
