The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, promoting healthy lifestyles, and enabling every student to thrive both academically and personally. **About the Role** The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the health, hygiene and wellbeing of all students and staff, ensuring compliance with the regulations and requirements of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). The role encompasses the management of student and staff health needs, the administration of first aid and emergency care, maintenance of immunisation and medical records, and the delivery of health education and awareness initiatives. You will also play a key role in developing a culture of preventative healthcare by supporting staff and students with best practices in health, hygiene and wellbeing, contributing to a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment for the entire school community. **Key responsibilities include:** · Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values. · Ensure that students and parents adhere to, and are well informed of immunization programs as per MOPH guidelines. · Monitor the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene within the school, particularly in areas such as the cafeteria, classrooms, and washrooms. · Be available to students and staff to address their immediate medical needs, providing a source of medical advice. · Maintain comprehensive medical records of all students as regulated by the MOPH and GEMS Education. · Establish procedures for providing first aid in cases of accidents or illness on the school campus or during school functions. · Refer accidents or illness appropriately to external medical service providers, and inform parents and the school Principal. · Be present for all student related activities on campus as required. · Keep up to date with current medical practices and regulations, as prescribed by Governmental authorities. · Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times. · Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment. · Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. · Perform other duties as requested by direct \& dotted reporting line managers / supervisors. **About You** We are looking for someone who: · Has experience working as a registered nurse, ideally within a school, paediatric, community or primary healthcare setting. · Excellent English language skills including reading, writing, speaking and listening. · Has a strong understanding of child health, wellbeing, safeguarding and health promotion. · Is confident in assessing and managing minor illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies, providing appropriate first aid and nursing care. · Demonstrates excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. · Has experience maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with relevant health regulations and confidentiality requirements. · Works collaboratively and builds strong relationships with students, staff, parents and external healthcare providers. · Is proactive in promoting health awareness, preventative care and healthy lifestyle practices across the school community. · Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children. · A logical and relaxed individual able to interact with a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures. **Qualifications and Experience** · Diploma in nursing (duration: 3 years after graduation from high school), preferably Bachelor’s degree in nursing. · Minimum 2 years of clinical experience after registration and licensing as a registered general nurse. · Must have a valid Qatar DHP Nurse License · Must have current Paediatric Frist Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) / AED certifications. **How to Apply** Please upload your full CV and covering letter highlighting why you would be a suitable candidate for this role by 20th August 2026\.
