**SALES ENGINEER – WATERPROOFING CONTRACTING**
1\. Position Overview
Job Title: Sales Engineer
Department: Sales \& Business Development / Contracting
Objective: Drive revenue growth and market penetration for specialized waterproofing contracting systems by aggressively securing project specifications, managing full\-cycle tendering, and maintaining strict alignment between commercial sales, technical execution, and financial receivables.
2\. Key Responsibilities \& Core Competencies
Business Development \& Strategic Client Acquisition
Aggressively build, expand, and manage strategic relationships with key developers, main contractors, MEP/structural consultants, and architectural firms.
Position and specify the company’s advanced waterproofing systems (e.g., torch\-applied/self\-adhesive membranes, liquid\-applied polyurethane/acrylic coatings, basement tanking, injection grouting, and roof insulation) directly with consultants during the design and tender stages.
Track, forecast, and convert project pipelines from the initial enquiry stage through to final contract award.
Tendering, Estimating \& Commercial Negotiation
4\. Review complex tender documents, architectural drawings, and structural specifications to prepare accurate, competitive commercial quotations and comprehensive technical system proposals.
5\. Prepare detailed cost summaries, material requirement schedules, and material breakdown sheets for every assigned job.
6\. Spearhead price, cost, delivery, and specification negotiations with clients and main contractors while safeguarding profit margins.
7\. Prepare and issue official work orders in strict coordination with internal operational guidelines.
Technical Submittals \& Engineering Compliance
8\. Draft, compile, and submit robust material submittals (datasheets, compliance statements, third\-party test certificates, and sample boards) to secure formal approvals from consultants.
9\. Author precise, project\-specific Method Statements (MS) for various waterproofing applications, ensuring strict adherence to manufacturer specifications and site safety standards.
10\. Maintain an airtight, auditable filing system for quotations, system proposals, approved submittals, progress billings, and commercial correspondence.
Project Coordination, Control \& Site Integration
11\. Attend pre\-start site meetings alongside internal engineers and supervisors to resolve complex technical details, site constraints, and preliminary requirements.
12\. Lead technical coordination meetings and site progress meetings with external stakeholders, issuing precise, legally sound minutes of meeting.
13\. Participate actively in in\-house weekly alignment meetings with the Project Manager, engineers, and supervisors to synchronize work scheduling, material allocation, and site distribution.
Financial Governance, Invoicing \& Debt Recovery
14\. Coordinate closely with the Quantity Surveyor (QS) engineer to fast\-track the preparation, submission, and consultant approval of invoices and progress billings.
15\. Actively drive and follow up on receivable payments and overdue collections in direct alignment with the Accounts department to maintain healthy cash flow.
16\. Deliver comprehensive, data\-driven sales performance reports and pipeline analytics to top management during monthly in\-house review sessions.
3\. Minimum Qualifications \& Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. (Certifications in Sales, Marketing, or waterproofing application standards are a strong plus).
Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven sales and engineering experience specifically within the waterproofing contracting, construction chemicals, or structural repair industry.
Technical Mastery: In\-depth knowledge of various waterproofing technologies, construction methodologies, structural damp\-proofing, and relevant international building standards (ASTM/BS). Demonstrable ability to read, interpret, and take off quantities from architectural and structural drawings.
Commercial Acumen: Strong contract negotiation skills, financial literacy regarding BOQs and cost\-benefit analysis, and a proven track record of hitting sales targets.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a significant asset), with advanced capability in drafting technical submittals, contractual correspondence, and executive reports.
Driving License: Valid local driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for site visits across the region.
