Job Summary The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with UAE health and safety regulations across all MEP activities including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and ELV works. The role involves monitoring site safety practices, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization. Key Responsibilities 1. Site Safety Management • Monitor daily MEP site activities to ensure compliance with safety standards. • Enforce company HSE policies and procedures. • Ensure safe execution of HVAC ducting, piping, cable laying, and panel installations. • Inspect scaffolding, ladders, lifting equipment, and access systems. 2. Risk Assessment & Method Statements • Prepare and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). • Review and approve Method Statements related to MEP works. • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. 3. Compliance & Authority Coordination • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality safety regulations. • Ensure adherence to UAE Labour Law and Civil Defense requirements. • Coordinate safety inspections with consultants and clients. • Prepare documentation required for authority audits. 4. Training & Awareness • Conduct daily Toolbox Talks for workers and subcontractors. • Provide safety induction training for new employees. • Promote awareness on electrical safety, working at height, hot work, and confined space entry. 5. Incident Management • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts. • Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures. • Maintain accident and safety records. 6. Monitoring & Reporting • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits. • Ensure proper use of PPE (helmets, harnesses, gloves, safety shoes). • Submit weekly and monthly HSE reports to management. • Maintain HSE documentation and compliance records. Technical Knowledge Required • Knowledge of MEP site risks (electrical hazards, lifting operations, welding works, testing & commissioning risks). • Understanding of confined space entry procedures. • Knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures. • Fire safety and emergency response planning. Key Competencies • Strong observation and risk identification skills. • Leadership and team coordination ability. • Good reporting and documentation skills. • Proactive and safety-focused mindset. Qualifications & Requirements • NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory). • IOSH certification (Preferred). • Diploma/Degree in Safety or Engineering (Preferred). • 4–6 years UAE construction experience (MEP preferred). • Strong communication skills in English (Hindi/Arabic is an advantage). • Ability to prepare professional safety documentation.
