Risk & Compliance Lead

We are supporting a leading financial institution in the UAE in their search for a Risk & Compliance Lead to oversee the organisation s enterprise-wide risk and compliance function. This is a senior leadership opportunity offering direct exposure to the Executive Committee and Board. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the organisation s risk strategy, governance framework, and compliance agenda while supporting strategic investment decisions across a complex portfolio. Key Responsibilities -Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide risk and compliance strategies. -Oversee credit, market, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risk across the organisation. -Drive risk assessments, scenario planning, stress testing, and governance initiatives. -Ensure compliance frameworks align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. -Prepare and present executive-level risk reporting and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board. -Partner with key stakeholders to integrate risk considerations into strategic and investment decisions. -Foster a strong risk and compliance culture across the organisation. Extensive leadership experience in risk management, compliance, governance, or audit. -Background within banking, financial services, investments, sovereign wealth funds, or similar institutional environments. -Strong expertise in enterprise risk frameworks, governance, and regulatory compliance. -Proven experience engaging with Executive Committees, Boards, and senior stakeholders. -Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. -Professional risk or compliance certifications are advantageous.
