Job description
Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a talented Resident Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical and engineering aspects of the project. You will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will supervise day-to-day construction activities, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. We envisage success in this role to include:
• Leading and overseeing all engineering activities on-site, ensuring that the construction process follows the approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Ensuring that all construction work complies with the required quality standards and is performed in accordance with regulatory codes and safety practices.
• Acting as the primary point of contact between the project team, contractors, consultants, and clients. Facilitate effective communication and coordination across all parties involved.
• Tracking project progress and provide regular reports to the Project Manager regarding milestones, issues, and schedule adjustments. Monitor the performance of contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Identifying, evaluating and resolving any technical or logistical challenges that may arise during construction, pro-actively addressing potential delays and issues.
• Maintaining and managing all project documentation, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, inspection reports, and change orders.
• Ensuring that all activities on-site comply with local safety regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective measures where necessary.
• Monitoring project costs and ensure that any variations from the approved budget are reported and managed effectively.
• Supervising inspections and testing of materials, systems, and structures, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and regulations.
• Communicating project updates to clients, consultants, and stakeholders, addressing their concerns and managing expectations throughout the project life-cycle.
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include at least 15 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering. Experience in community buildings projects in UAE will be preferred (especially mixed use developments where buildings can be a blend of residential and small retail).
