Description We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Inspector with hands-on experience in fabrication or production environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using dimensional measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings, isometrics, and inspection plans. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting inspection data is essential. The role also requires good communication skills to coordinate with production and project teams. Candidates should be physically capable of working on the shop floor and committed to quality and safety standards. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES • Carry out dimensional measurement and inspection of raw materials, in-process, and finished items on the shop floor as per approved drawings and specifications. • Use measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, tape, gauges, etc.) accurately and maintain their calibration status. • Assist in visual inspection of welded, fabricated, and machined components for conformance to quality standards. • Record inspection and measurement results accurately in inspection checklists, reports, and QC logs. • Prepare and maintain QC reports, inspection records, and measurement data sheets for management and customer review. • Flag non-conforming items, dimensions, or workmanship to the QC Supervisor and support root-cause/rework follow-up. • Support the QC Supervisor/QA-QC Manager during internal, customer, and third-party inspections/audits. • Maintain traceability of inspection records, material test certificates, and calibration certificates. • Coordinate with production, welding, and fabrication teams to ensure timely inspection at each stage of work. • Follow all HSE procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times. JOB SPECIFICATIONS • Working knowledge of dimensional measurement tools and inspection techniques used on a fabrication/production shop floor. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and inspection/test plans (ITPs). • Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording measurements and data. • Proficient in preparing clear, well-organized inspection and QC reports (MS Excel/Word). • Basic understanding of applicable quality standards and QA/QC documentation practices. • Good communication skills to liaise with production, QC, and project teams. • Physically able to move around the shop floor and work near production/fabrication activities. Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Control, or a related technical field. Basic training/certification in dimensional inspection or quality control is an advantage. 1-3 years of experience as a QC Technician or in a shop-floor quality/inspection role, preferably in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with measuring instruments and preparing inspection/QC reports preferred.
