Job Summary
The QC Inspector – Joinery/Fit-out ensures all on-site interior fit-out installations and bespoke joinery elements adhere to strict aesthetic, structural, and contractual quality standards . This role monitors site execution, inspects incoming materials, manages snagging processes, and enforces compliance with approved workshop drawings, technical specifications, and project templates.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection & Quality Control
• Conduct daily visual and physical inspections of fit-out activities including carpentry, partitioning, ceilings, panelling, and premium finishes.
• Verify installation parameters using technical tools to ensure precise leveling, plumb alignment, flush joints, and strict dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect incoming site deliveries against approved material submittals to verify wood species, veneers, laminates, glass, stone, and hardware.
• Ensure all on-site joinery and fit-out execution mirrors approved design mock-ups and benchmarking samples.
Testing, Documentation & Compliance
• Formulate and implement project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) , detailed Method Statements, and quality checklists.
• Generate and manage Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) , Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Inspection Requests (IRs).
• Issue formal Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) upon identifying defective workmanship, material deviations, or layout errors.
• Oversee full compliance with internal ISO 9001 quality management protocols and local civil defense or building regulations.
Snagging & Project Handover
• Lead thorough pre-handover snagging and de-snagging cycles to track and close out minor visual or structural defects.
• Coordinate directly with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors during joint site walkthroughs and final handovers.
• Collaborate closely with production facilities to address manufacturing errors before components leave the assembly floor.
Role Requirements
Technical Skills & Competencies
• Deep technical understanding of luxury joinery fabrication, finishing techniques, and premium material behavior.
• Advanced proficiency in reading and cross-referencing complex architectural, structural, and interior shop drawings.
• Practical familiarity with precision tools including digital calipers, moisture meters, alignment lasers, and specialized gauges.
• Competency in administrative software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD viewers, and collaborative construction tracking platforms. [
Education & Experience
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or a strictly related construction field.
• Minimum of 3-7 years of proven experience acting as a QA/QC inspector specifically within commercial or high-end residential fit-out projects.
• Clear capability to operate under fast-track site conditions while strictly enforcing technical and aesthetic standards.
