QC Engineer Welding Engineer

The QC Enginee r (Piping, Welding & NDT) is responsible for ensuring that all piping fabrication, welding activities, and non-destructive testing (NDT) work strictly meet project specifications, international codes, and client quality requirements. The role involves supervision, inspection, documentation, and coordination with construction teams, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. Inspect piping fabrication, fit-up, welding, and erection activities as per approved drawings and specifications. Verify material compliance, including MTC (Material Test Certificates), heat numbers, and traceability. Monitor welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, etc.) and ensure welders follow approved WPS/PQR. Conduct welder qualification tests and maintain updated welder performance records. Review and ensure compliance with project welding procedures, codes, and standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc.). Coordinate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PMI, and Hardness Testing. Review NDT reports and ensure acceptability based on applicable codes. Verify calibration and validity of NDT equipment and certification of technicians. Identify and report defects, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemente Prepare and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures. Carry out stage inspections with client representatives and secure approvals. Maintain QC documentation including welding logs, NDT reports, NCRs, RFI logs, and final dossiers. Prepare QC dossiers for mechanical completion and handover. Good communication Skills in English Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engg Minimum 3 10 years experience in piping, welding, and NDT QC roles (depending on project level). Certification preferred: CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, AWS-CWI, BGAS / NACE Level 1/2 (added advantage).
