Job description

**Job Purpose** To ensure that all Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) products, materials, and processes meet applicable quality, technical, and safety standards throughout the production cycle — from raw material inspection to final product testing and dispatch — including specialized non\-destructive testing such as Acoustic Emission (AE) Testing. **Key Responsibilities** * Conduct in\-process and final inspection of GRP products (pipes, tanks, vessels, ducts, fittings, etc.) in accordance with project specifications, international standards (ASTM, ISO, BS EN), and client requirements. * Perform and interpret **Acoustic Emission (AE) Testing** on GRP vessels, tanks, and piping systems to detect structural defects, delamination, and material integrity issues. * Carry out GRP\-specific quality tests including: * Barcol Hardness Testing * Glass content / resin content testing (Burn\-off / Loss on Ignition test) * Wall thickness measurement * Visual inspection for delamination, dry spots, porosity, and cracks * Hydrostatic / pressure testing * Lamination and lay\-up sequence verification * Monitor and verify raw materials (resin, glass fiber, catalyst, gel coat) against specifications and batch certificates. * Witness and monitor day\-to\-day production activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures, work instructions, and quality plans. * Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, NCRs (Non\-Conformance Reports), and calibration logs. * Coordinate with production, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions. * Prepare and maintain Inspection \& Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, and documentation for client/third\-party audits. * Liaise with third\-party inspection agencies and clients during inspections, witness tests, and audits. * Ensure calibration and proper handling of testing/inspection equipment. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce rework/rejection rates. **Qualifications \& Requirements** * Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 3–5 years' experience in GRP/FRP manufacturing quality control. * Certified in Acoustic Emission Testing (AE Level I/II per ASNT or equivalent) is highly preferred. * Additional NDT certifications (VT, UT) are an advantage. * Strong knowledge of GRP fabrication processes: filament winding, hand lay\-up, spray\-up. * Familiarity with relevant standards: ASTM D2563, ASTM D2583, ASTM E1067/E1067M, ASME RTP\-1, ISO 14692, AWWA C950, etc. * Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications. * Strong attention to detail, analytical, and reporting skills. * Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus). Pay: ﷼2,500\.00 \- ﷼3,500\.00 per month Work Location: In person
