QA/QC Engineer (Civil Construction)

**Job Purpose:** The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures to ensure that all construction activities, materials, workmanship, inspections, and testing comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project requirements, and applicable standards. The role involves coordinating with project management, site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, laboratories, and other stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are achieved and properly documented. **Key Responsibilities:** * Implement the approved Project Quality Plan, Inspection \& Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures. * Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements. * Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality of ongoing works. * Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IR/WIR) for completed works to the Consultant/Client. * Coordinate inspections with Consultants, Client representatives, Site Engineers, and subcontractors. * Review approved drawings, specifications, material submittals, and method statements before commencement of works. * Ensure that only approved materials are used at the project site. * Inspect delivered materials against approved material submittals, purchase orders, delivery notes, and project specifications. * Maintain records of material inspections and approvals. * Monitor concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, and other civil/building activities. * Monitor construction activities to ensure proper workmanship and compliance with specified tolerances. * Coordinate with laboratory personnel for required material testing and inspections. * Monitor concrete sampling, slump tests, cube tests, soil tests, compaction tests, and other required testing. * Review laboratory test reports and ensure compliance with project specifications. * Ensure proper calibration and validity of testing and measuring equipment. * Monitor and maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, checklists, and related documentation. * Identify non\-conforming works and initiate Non\-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required. * Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure. * Monitor recurring quality issues and recommend appropriate preventive measures. * Coordinate with construction teams to resolve quality\-related problems and avoid rework. * Assist in preparation for Consultant/Client inspections, audits, and quality meetings. * Participate in internal and external quality audits. * Maintain an organized and traceable QA/QC documentation system. * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports as required. * Monitor quality performance against project objectives and KPIs. * Ensure completed works are properly inspected and accepted before proceeding to subsequent activities. * Maintain and control the following documentation as applicable, Project Quality Plan, Inspection \& Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Inspection Requests (IR/WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Material submittals and approvals, Checklists, Test reports, Laboratory reports ,Concrete pour records, NCRs, Corrective Action Reports * Site observation reports, Calibration certificates, Quality audit reports, As\-built documentation, Handover and quality dossiers. **Education:** * Bachelor's Degree in **Civil Engineering** or equivalent. * Relevant QA/QC certifications are preferred. * **ISO 9001 / Quality Management** training or certification is an advantage. * Relevant professional membership/certification will be an advantage. * UPDA Certification, Grade C, B or A preferred Work Location: In person
