Purchasing Manager - Furniture Manufacturing Exp

Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies for local and international sourcing • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to secure the best value • Review and manage supplier contracts to ensure performance and compliance • Build and maintain strong, long-term vendor relationships • Evaluate quotations and conduct cost/value analysis before approving purchase orders • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services • Perform risk assessments on suppliers, contracts, and procurement processes • Manage and control procurement budgets, focusing on cost optimization • Lead and supervise the purchasing team, ensuring efficient operations • Maintain an updated database of suppliers, pricing, and contracts • Handle supplier issues including quality concerns, defects, and shortages • Monitor and manage inventory levels in coordination with stores/warehouse • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth flow of materials for production/projects • Provide regular updates to management on procurement activities and performance • Proven experience in procurement/purchasing (preferably in manufacturing / joinery / furniture industry) • Strong knowledge of supplier sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation • Experience in handling both local and international procurement • Good understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory management • Familiarity with procurement systems / ERP tools • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines • Excellent communication and coordination skills • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail • Knowledge of materials (especially wood, hardware, coatings, etc. – if furniture industry) is an added advantage
