Project Engineer (MEP)

**Position Title:** Project Engineer (MEP) **Location:** Kuwait **Company:** Loloah Alshaya General Trading \& Contracting Company **Department:** Projects / MEP Engineering **Reporting To:** Project Manager / General Manager Position Overview Loloah Alshaya General Trading \& Contracting Company is seeking a highly experienced **Project Engineer (MEP)** with **10\+ years of verifiable experience** in MEP construction, coordination, and project execution in Kuwait. The successful candidate must have strong hands\-on experience managing **mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and related building services**, while coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams. Candidates with the necessary **relevant approvals** and demonstrated experience on approved projects in Kuwait will be given priority. The candidate must be **available to join immediately**. Key Responsibilities * Manage and supervise day\-to\-day MEP construction and installation activities. * Coordinate mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other building services. * Review MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and technical submittals. * Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, and applicable authority requirements. * Manage MEP engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, subcontractors, and site manpower. * Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural, and architectural disciplines to identify and resolve clashes before execution. * Monitor project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, and site productivity. * Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. * Monitor actual MEP progress against the approved program and identify delays, constraints, and required corrective actions. * Coordinate material submittals, approvals, procurement, and delivery schedules. * Prepare and follow up on RFIs, inspection requests, method statements, technical submittals, and related documentation. * Coordinate inspections and approvals with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities. * Monitor QA/QC requirements and ensure corrective action for NCRs, rejected works, and consultant observations. * Supervise testing, commissioning, balancing, inspections, and system integration. * Review subcontractor progress and verify completed quantities and works. * Support preparation of variations, claims, additional\-work records, and supporting documentation. * Attend technical, progress, coordination, and client meetings and follow up on agreed action items. * Troubleshoot technical and coordination issues and provide practical site solutions. * Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements and company safety procedures. * Manage snagging, testing and commissioning records, as\-built drawings, O\&M documentation, handover, and project close\-out. * Maintain professional communication with clients and consultants and represent the company appropriately on site. Qualifications \& Skills * Bachelor’s degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant MEP engineering discipline**. * Minimum **10\+ years of verifiable professional experience** in MEP construction and project execution. * Proven experience as a **Project Engineer (MEP), Senior MEP Engineer, MEP Coordinator, or similar position**. * Must have **relevant project/authority approvals** applicable to the position and be able to provide evidence when requested. * **Active Kuwait Engineering Society membership is required.** * Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and associated MEP systems. * Strong understanding of MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documentation. * Good knowledge of testing, commissioning, and project handover procedures. * Strong understanding of Kuwait construction practices and applicable authority requirements. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Excel, and project reporting tools. * Knowledge of Revit/BIM coordination is an advantage. * Knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage. * Strong leadership, coordination, and manpower\-management capabilities. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to independently manage MEP activities and take responsibility for project deliverables. * Kuwait project experience is strongly preferred. * **Verifiable employment and project history is required.** * Valid transferable Kuwait residency preferred. * **Must be available to join immediately.** Top 5 Essential Skills * **MEP Project Execution** – Strong hands\-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting works. * **MEP Coordination** – Ability to coordinate multiple building services and resolve clashes with civil and architectural works. * **Technical \& Drawing Expertise** – Strong ability to review MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, submittals, and coordination drawings. * **Site Leadership \& Problem Solving** – Ability to manage MEP teams and subcontractors while resolving technical and execution issues. * **Testing, Commissioning \& Handover** – Strong understanding of inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging, documentation, and final handover.
