ob Summary The **Fiberglass Boat Manufacturing Supervisor** oversees daily shop\-floor operations in open\-molding, gelcoating, lamination, structural assembly, and final finishing stages. This role ensures build schedules are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of composite structural integrity, cosmetic finish quality, and strict workplace safety (EHS/OSHA/EPA compliance). Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management \& Floor Operations * Direct daily activities of lamination technicians, gelcoat applicators, grinders, and assembly team members. * Oversee full open\-mold/closed\-mold production workflows, including mold preparation, wax/release application, gelcoat spraying, resin application, structural core placement, and demolding. * Maintain strict quality control regarding resin\-to\-glass ratios, cure times, ambient humidity, and temperature conditions to eliminate blistering, print\-through, and air voids. * Coordinate material delivery (resins, gelcoats, catalysts, fiberglass mat/roving, structural cores) to maintain continuous workflow. Quality Assurance \& Safety Compliance * Perform in\-process and final inspections of hulls, decks, liners, and small components. * Enforce strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including respirators, eye protection, and protective suits. * Monitor hazardous chemical handling, storage, and ventilation systems (VOC compliance, styrene exposure levels, flammable resin management). * Conduct root\-cause analysis on lamination defects and implement corrective actions. Leadership \& Team Management * Schedule shifts, track labor hours, and assign daily job targets to production teams. * Train, mentor, and onboard technicians in proper hand lay\-up, vacuum bagging, resin infusion, and tool usage. * Evaluate staff performance and manage attendance, conflict resolution, and skill development.
