Procurement Specialist

Job Description We are looking for an experienced and highly organized **Procurement Specialist – Construction** to manage and coordinate procurement activities for our construction projects. The ideal candidate must have **strong knowledge of the construction industry and construction materials**, with proven experience in sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services. The candidate should be familiar with the **Bahrain construction market and local suppliers** and be capable of working closely with project, engineering, site, finance, and management teams. Key Responsibilities * Manage end\-to\-end procurement activities for construction projects. * Source and evaluate reliable local and international suppliers. * Procure **construction, MEP, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil, finishing, tools, equipment, and general site materials**. * Request and analyze quotations based on price, quality, specifications, availability, and delivery schedules. * Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, warranties, and delivery conditions with suppliers. * Prepare, review, and issue **Purchase Orders (POs)** and procurement documentation. * Coordinate with project and site teams to understand material requirements and project priorities. * Monitor procurement schedules and ensure materials are delivered according to project deadlines. * Follow up on pending orders, deliveries, and outstanding supplier issues. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. * Maintain an updated supplier database and records of prices, quotations, and purchase history. * Monitor market prices and identify cost\-saving opportunities. * Evaluate supplier performance, quality, pricing, and delivery reliability. * Coordinate with stores and site teams to ensure proper receipt and documentation of materials. * Assist in procurement planning, budgeting, and cost\-control activities. * Resolve procurement, material, and supplier\-related issues promptly. * Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company procedures and project requirements. * Prepare procurement reports and provide regular updates to management. Requirements \& Qualifications * **Strong knowledge and experience in the construction field is a MUST.** * Minimum **3–5 years of experience in procurement**, preferably within the construction or MEP industry. * Strong knowledge of **construction and MEP materials, specifications, and suppliers**. * Previous experience dealing with **Bahrain\-based construction material suppliers** is highly preferred. * Good understanding of procurement procedures, purchasing, vendor management, and cost control. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Excellent supplier coordination and follow\-up skills. * Ability to analyze quotations and negotiate competitive commercial terms. * Good knowledge of **Microsoft Office, especially Excel**. * Experience with ERP/procurement software is an advantage. * Strong organizational, analytical, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent project requirements. * **Must be currently available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiner is highly preferred.** * Bahrain/GCC construction experience is an advantage. Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate should have a **strong understanding of construction procurement**, local supplier networks, material pricing, and project requirements.
