Job description
**Key Responsibilities**
**1\. Procurement \& Purchasing**
* Manage the end\-to\-end procurement process for assigned projects and operational requirements.
* Review approved material requisitions, purchase requests, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
* Source and identify suitable suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and service providers.
* Obtain competitive quotations and prepare commercial comparison statements.
* Evaluate supplier offers based on **price, quality, specifications, delivery period, payment terms, warranty, and compliance**.
* Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
* Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
* Follow up on purchase orders and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
* Monitor outstanding procurement requirements and proactively address potential delays.
**2\. MEP Procurement**
Handle procurement of a wide range of MEP materials and equipment, including but not limited to:
* HVAC equipment and materials
* Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation equipment and accessories
* Ducting and duct accessories
* Pipes, valves, fittings and insulation
* Plumbing and drainage materials
* Pumps and water supply equipment
* Electrical cables, wires and accessories
* Distribution boards, panels and electrical equipment
* Lighting fixtures and accessories
* Cable trays, trunking and containment systems
* Fire alarm and firefighting materials
* ELV materials and related systems
* Generators, transformers and other electrical/mechanical equipment
**3\. Civil Procurement**
Manage procurement of civil construction materials and related requirements, including:
* Cement, concrete and related materials
* Steel reinforcement and structural steel
* Blocks, bricks and masonry materials
* Sand, aggregates and other construction materials
* Waterproofing and insulation materials
* Tiles, flooring and finishing materials
* Paints, coatings and sealants
* Doors, windows and architectural materials
* Formwork and scaffolding requirements
* Construction tools, consumables and site materials
* Civil subcontracting and specialist services
**4\. Project Coordination**
* Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, Planning, Stores and Site Teams to understand project priorities.
* Clarify technical and commercial requirements with relevant departments before placing orders.
* Coordinate with Engineering/Technical teams regarding approved materials, technical submittals and supplier compliance.
* Track long\-lead items and ensure procurement activities align with project schedules.
* Provide regular procurement status updates and highlight potential delays or risks.
* Coordinate material delivery schedules with project sites and stores.
**5\. Documentation \& Compliance**
* Maintain complete procurement documentation and records.
* Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect agreed specifications, quantities, prices, delivery dates and commercial terms.
* Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approval procedures.
* Maintain proper documentation for supplier evaluations, quotations, comparison statements and purchase orders.
* Coordinate with Finance regarding supplier invoices, payment terms, advance payments and required supporting documents.
* Ensure procurement records are properly updated in ERP/procurement systems.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**
* On\-time delivery of required materials and equipment
* Procurement cost savings and commercial efficiency
* Supplier quotation turnaround time
* Purchase order processing time
* Supplier performance and delivery reliability
* Reduction in project material shortages and procurement\-related delays
* Compliance with procurement procedures and documentation requirements
* Accuracy of purchase orders and procurement records
* Effective management of long\-lead items
* Quality and competitiveness of supplier sourcing
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in **Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field**.
* Professional procurement/supply\-chain certification such as **CIPS** is an advantage.
* Additional technical knowledge in MEP or Civil construction is highly desirable.
**Experience**
* **4–7 years of procurement experience**, preferably within MEP, Civil, Building Construction, Infrastructure, or Engineering \& Construction companies.
* Experience in procurement of MEP and/or Civil materials, equipment, subcontracting and construction\-related services.
* Experience handling multiple project procurement requirements simultaneously.
* Experience with supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, purchase orders and delivery follow\-up.
* Experience working with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
**Technical Skills**
* Strong knowledge of construction materials and MEP products.
* Good understanding of BOQs, specifications, material requisitions and technical submittals.
* Strong quotation comparison and commercial evaluation skills.
* Negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Knowledge of local and international suppliers and construction material markets.
* Good understanding of procurement processes and supply\-chain principles.
* Proficiency in **MS Excel, Word and Outlook**.
* Experience with ERP/procurement software is an advantage.
* Ability to analyse pricing, lead times, payment terms and other commercial conditions.
