Job description

The Practical Nurse (PN) is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians. The Practical Nurse supports the delivery of high-quality care by monitoring patients physical and emotional well-being, administering prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of practice, implementing individualized care plans, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while adhering to hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans and clinical protocols. • Monitor and document patients' physical condition, emotional well-being, behavior, and response to treatment, promptly reporting significant changes. • Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately within the authorized scope of practice. • Observe patients for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly to the supervising Registered Nurse or physician. • Build therapeutic relationships with patients through compassionate care, active listening, and effective communication. • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and maintaining daily routines. • Support patients in achieving individualized care goals through encouragement, education, and ongoing assistance. • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient orientation. • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation using the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR) system. • Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care. • Respond appropriately to emergencies and assist in implementing safety and crisis management procedures when required. • Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, and professional ethical standards at all times. Diploma or Degree in Practical Nursing or an equivalent recognized nursing qualification. Minimum of 2 5 years of nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. Additional clinical certifications are considered an advantage. Strong patient assessment and observation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Compassionate, patient-focused, and professional approach to care. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Excellent command of the English language
