Job description
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring and updating project schedules, ensuring effective resource allocation and supporting timely project delivery. The role focuses on integrating planning with cost control, procurement and execution teams to drive efficiency, minimize delays and provide accurate reporting to management.
• Develop, monitor and update baseline schedules using Primavera (P6) and MS Project.
• Prepare project execution plans, work breakdown structures (WBS) and critical path analyses.
• Track progress against schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
• Provide detailed analysis of schedule variances, resource utilization and productivity trends.
• Support cost control and procurement teams by aligning schedules with budgets and material requirements.
• Prepare recovery schedules, mitigation plans and updated forecasts when deviations occur.
• Participate in project reviews to recommend corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
• Assist in claim preparation, extension of time (EOT) analysis and delay justifications.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and commercial teams.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved in alignment with contractual obligations.
• Support planning manager in liaising with consultants, contractors and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate planning documentation and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Ensure planning deliverables meet client and contractual requirements.

• Vendors / Suppliers
• Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in planning and scheduling within construction, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficiency in Primavera (P6), MS Project and planning software.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and construction sequencing.
• Analytical skills in critical path method (CPM) and resource leveling.
• Strong reporting, presentation and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of FIDIC and contractual planning requirements.
