Planning Engineer – Construction

Job Description ERA Projects is looking for an experienced **Planning Engineer** with a strong background in **building and construction projects**. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination with project and site teams. The role requires strong knowledge of **Primavera P6, construction schedules, WBS, baseline programs, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and recovery planning**. These are also reflected in current Planning Engineer postings in Bahrain. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain detailed **construction project schedules** using Primavera P6\. * Prepare **Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)** based on project drawings, scope, and construction activities. * Develop baseline programs, target milestones, and project execution schedules. * Monitor actual progress against approved baseline schedules. * Collect and verify daily/weekly progress information from site teams. * Prepare **weekly and monthly progress reports** for management and clients. * Identify delays, slippages, critical activities, and potential schedule risks. * Analyze the **critical path, float, and schedule performance**. * Prepare recovery programs and recommend corrective actions for delayed activities. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QS, subcontractors, and other departments. * Track manpower, materials, equipment, and resources against project requirements. * Update schedules based on approved variations, changes, and actual site progress. * Prepare look\-ahead schedules and short\-term execution plans. * Assist with **Extension of Time (EOT)** claims and delay analysis when required. * Monitor project milestones and ensure activities are aligned with overall project objectives. * Attend progress meetings and provide planning and scheduling updates. * Maintain proper records of programs, progress updates, reports, and planning documentation. Requirements * **Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.** * **Minimum 3–5 years of experience** as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry. * Strong experience in **building and civil construction projects**. * Excellent knowledge of **Primavera P6**; MS Project is an advantage. * Strong understanding of construction sequencing, WBS, baseline schedules, and critical path methodology. * Experience in progress monitoring, delay analysis, recovery schedules, and reporting. * Ability to read and understand **construction drawings, BOQs, and project specifications**. * Strong knowledge of construction activities and site execution processes. * Proficiency in **MS Excel and Microsoft Office**. * GCC/Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred. * Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines. * **Must be currently located in Bahrain.** * **Must be available for immediate joining.** * Candidates with **cancelled/transferable visa or valid local status** are preferred.
