Job description

**Railway PAUT NDT Inspector (Level 2\) — Sharjah, UAE** **Position Overview** Our company is seeking a qualified, full\-time NDT Inspector to work on\-site in Sharjah, UAE, focusing on **Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)** and related non\-destructive testing methods applied to railway components and infrastructure. All work is carried out in line with approved procedures and applicable industry standards. **Core Responsibilities** The successful candidate will prepare detailed inspection plans, set up and calibrate the organization's NDT equipment, carry out on\-site inspections, and interpret and log findings accurately. Reporting is a key part of the role — you'll be expected to produce clear, precise documentation for every inspection performed. This position requires regular coordination with quality assurance, engineering, and maintenance teams to pinpoint defects, evaluate corrosion or general material wear, and provide input on whether components should be repaired or replaced. You'll also be involved in routine safety briefings, upkeep of inspection records and traceability files, and helping refine inspection methods over time. **Essential Criteria — candidates must meet all of the following:** * Current NDT Level 2 certification in PAUT, issued by ASNT, PCN, or an equivalent recognized body. **Certification must be submitted along with your application.** * A minimum of three years' direct, hands\-on PAUT inspection work within railway, heavy industrial, or infrastructure settings. Experience outside these sectors will not be accepted as meeting this criterion. * Track record of independently managing equipment setup, calibration, data collection, and result analysis without direct supervision. * Familiarity with the safety and compliance standards applicable to industrial field inspection work. **Desirable Skills** * Eddy current testing capability for identifying surface\-level and near\-surface defects. * Strong background in quality control — including standards adherence, procedural compliance, and reliable technical documentation. * Experience assessing corrosion and material breakdown, with the ability to recommend appropriate corrective measures. * Competence in reading technical drawings and specifications, and explaining inspection outcomes to both engineering staff and non\-specialist stakeholders. * High attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, and willingness to work in demanding field environments, including confined or elevated areas. * A diploma or degree in engineering, materials science, or a related discipline is an advantage. * Openness to continued professional development, certification renewals, and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines. **Application Notice** Only applicants who clearly satisfy the essential criteria — a valid Level 2 PAUT certificate combined with demonstrable railway or heavy\-industry inspection background — will be shortlisted for further contact. Applications lacking certification proof or relevant field experience will not be processed. We appreciate your cooperation. Pay: From AED4,000\.00 per month Work Location: In person
