Painting Supervisor

**Job Description** The Painting Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all **surface preparation, blasting, and painting activities** for fabricated structural steel. The role ensures that coating work is completed according to approved specifications, quality requirements, safety standards, and project schedules. **Key Responsibilities:** * Supervise daily **blasting, surface preparation, priming, and painting** activities. * Allocate manpower and coordinate painters, blasters, and helpers according to production requirements. * Ensure steel surfaces are prepared to the required standard before coating. * Verify correct **paint system, primer, intermediate coat, topcoat, mixing ratio, thinner, and application method** according to project specifications. * Monitor environmental conditions such as **surface temperature, air temperature, relative humidity, and dew point** before painting. * Monitor **DFT/WFT (Dry/Wet Film Thickness)** and ensure required coating thickness is achieved. * Coordinate with **QC inspectors** for surface preparation and painting inspections. * Ensure proper paint storage, handling, mixing, application, and control of paint consumption/wastage. * Ensure blasting and painting equipment, spray pumps, compressors, hoses, and tools are maintained properly. * Monitor production progress and ensure painting activities meet project deadlines. * Ensure proper identification, handling, and protection of painted steel structures to prevent coating damage. * Maintain daily painting/blasting production records and material consumption reports. * Ensure compliance with **HSE requirements**, including correct PPE and safe handling of paints, thinners, chemicals, and blasting materials. * Coordinate with Production, QC, Engineering, Stores, and Project teams as required. **Education:** Diploma/ITI or equivalent technical qualification preferred. **Experience:** **5\+ years** in industrial/structural steel painting, including supervisory experience.
