Job description

Database Administration & Maintenance • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database systems (versions 8i through 11g) across Linux and MS-Windows environments • Monitor database health, performance, and availability on a daily basis • Manage database storage, tablespaces, and space allocation proactively Performance Tuning & Optimization • Perform database tuning and application tuning to ensure optimal query and system performance • Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks using Oracle diagnostic tools (AWR, ADDM, ASH) • Manage resource allocation, user profiles, and database security configurations High Availability & Clustering • Administer and maintain active-passive clustering technologies including Windows ClusterServer, Oracle Failsafe, RedHat Cluster Manager, and Oracle Cluster One-Node • Ensure database failover readiness and business continuity planning Data Management & Migration • Plan and execute large-scale data movement, migration, and rollout activities — both online and offline • Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN; ensure regular testing of restore procedures Security & Compliance • Implement and enforce data privacy, confidentiality, and security controls for patient healthcare and clinical data • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements around sensitive data handling Collaboration & Support • Work closely with application teams, system administrators, and project managers to support database-related requirements • Provide root cause analysis and resolution for database incidents and service requests • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures • 6+ years of Oracle DBA experience covering versions 8i through 11g • Worked on active-passive clustering setups (Oracle Failsafe, RedHat Cluster Manager, Oracle Cluster One-Node) • Handled end-to-end data migration and rollout projects at scale • Strong command over SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN, AWR, ADDM, and ASH • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field • Exposure to healthcare/clinical data environments is a strong advantage
