Job Description – OPC Communication Support Engineer (Short\-Term Contract)Position **OPC Communication Support Engineer** Project **SAP790** Location **ZULUF Site – JGC, Saudi Arabia** Contract Duration **8–10 Days (Project\-Based Assignment)** Number of Resources **1** Job Summary We are seeking an experienced OPC Communication Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support for a short\-term project involving OPC communication testing, troubleshooting, and configuration. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable server\-to\-server OPC communication, resolving communication issues, and validating system configurations to support stable industrial automation operations. Key Responsibilities * Perform server\-to\-server OPC communication testing and validation. * Configure and troubleshoot OPC communication between industrial systems. * Manage OPC certificates, security settings, and trust relationships. * Verify OPC redundancy configuration and ensure high availability. * Diagnose and resolve unstable OPC communication issues. * Analyze communication logs and identify root causes of connectivity problems. * Coordinate with site engineers and project stakeholders during testing and commissioning activities. * Prepare a summary report of findings, corrective actions, and recommendations upon project completion. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. * Minimum **3–5 years** of hands\-on experience with OPC communication in industrial automation environments. * Strong knowledge of **OPC DA** and **OPC UA** architecture and communication protocols. * Experience with OPC server/client configuration, certificate management, and redundancy setup. * Hands\-on experience in troubleshooting industrial communication networks. * Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, PLC, or Industrial Control Systems. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work independently in an onsite industrial environment. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in oil \& gas, petrochemical, or industrial automation projects. * Experience with major automation platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider Electric, ABB, Emerson, or Rockwell Automation. * Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and cybersecurity best practices for OPC communication.
