Job description

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator to manage and maintain network infrastructure in a dynamic, mission-critical environment under the US Military Training Mission (USMTM). This full-time position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities Network Administration: • Administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, test, and maintain network-related hardware, including HAIPE encryption devices, switches, routers, and transport devices. • Utilize network monitoring and management tools to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues. • Demonstrated experience in overseeing and troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues. • Configure, deploy, and manage switch stacking solutions, including Cisco StackWise and StackWise Virtual Link (SVL) technologies • Implement and troubleshoot Layer 2 network solutions, including VLAN configuration, trunking, spanning-tree protocol (STP), and inter-switch connectivity. • Configure and manage TACLANE encryptors with the Agile-VLAN feature to enable simultaneous transmission of Layer 2 and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) traffic, enhancing network flexibility and efficiency. • Implement and manage 802.1X port-based network access control to ensure secure user authentication and device validation. • Configure and troubleshoot MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) for non-802.1X-compliant devices, ensuring seamless network access while maintaining security standards. • Utilize NetFlow to monitor and analyze network traffic patterns, identify bottlenecks, and detect potential security threats. • Configure and manage Quality of Service (QoS) policies at the access layer to prioritize critical traffic such as voice, video, and real-time applications. Collaboration and Troubleshooting: • Coordinate with offsite service providers (e.g., WAN, Voice, WANSEC) via Remedy/Service Now ticketing system to resolve issues with DMZs, boundary routers/switches, Cisco CUBE, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN concentrators, and encryption devices. • Work with local base operations teams (e.g., help desk, systems, ISP/OSP) to address outages, ensuring timely restoration per established SLAs. • Troubleshoot and coordinate VTC (Video Teleconferencing) outages with offsite bridge personnel. Performance Optimization and Upgrades: • Perform performance monitoring, tuning, IOS upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, and problem resolution for network and voice routers/switches. • Actively participate in the planning and design of infrastructure upgrades or enhancements. Voice and Video Systems • Collaborate with the Voice Engineer to troubleshoot, configure, and maintain voice and video systems, ensuring seamless communication services. • Assist with the deployment, testing, and optimization of voice and video-related hardware and software as required. • Provide supplementary support during outages or upgrades to ensure minimal downtime Risk Management and Compliance: • Assist in building, maintaining, and updating Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages for two ARCENT Cyber Security-administered enclaves. • Ensure compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans, and other Security Requirements Guidance. Documentation and Reporting: • Assist in developing and completing system security documentation in accordance with RMF and eMASS workflows. • Identify and report system risks related to network and voice hardware/software. Asset Management: • Maintain inventory and manage life cycle replacement schedules for network infrastructure. • 4+ years experience in core network services connectivity and integration. • Must be Security+ and CCNA certified. CCNP certification desired. • Able to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information. • Able to apply DoD and industry best practices, concerning daily network operations. • Able to analyze complex inputs and translate data into well-defined system requirements. • Comfortable interacting heavily with outside organizations, clients and end users to assess current state of systems and architecture, as well as future needs. • Able to apply DoD and industry best practices, concerning daily network operations. • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in developing and maintaining detailed network diagrams, schematics, and documentation using Microsoft Visio or similar application to ensure accurate representation of the infrastructure. • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed to support unexpected issues or planned projects. • Must have a valid driver s license. • Must be a US citizen, hold a current Secret clearance, and be willing to live and work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. • EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
