MEP Manager – Mechanical

We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager – Mechanical to provide technical leadership and management across the delivery of complex, high\-profile building projects. The position requires a Mechanical Engineer with extensive MEP management and consultancy experience, capable of leading mechanical and multidisciplinary building services coordination from concept design through detailed design, tender, construction, and project handover. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the technical quality, coordination, and delivery of MEP services, with particular emphasis on HVAC and mechanical systems. The role requires strong leadership, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to manage interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP, interior design, contractors, clients, and other project stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead and manage the MEP function with primary technical responsibility for Mechanical and HVAC services across assigned projects. * Provide strategic and technical leadership throughout all project stages, from concept and schematic design through detailed design, tender, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover. * Manage and oversee the development of HVAC and mechanical building services, ensuring technically robust, coordinated, efficient, and constructible solutions. * Review and approve mechanical design deliverables, including calculations, specifications, equipment schedules, drawings, technical reports, and design documentation. * Direct multidisciplinary coordination between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV, Architecture, Structural, and Interior Design disciplines. * Lead the resolution of complex technical interfaces, design conflicts, coordination issues, and constructability challenges. * Establish and maintain appropriate technical standards, design methodologies, and quality control procedures across MEP deliverables. * Review and monitor Revit MEP models, BIM deliverables, AutoCAD drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination models. * Lead BIM coordination and clash detection activities using Revit and Navisworks, ensuring timely resolution of coordination issues. * Review and provide technical direction on shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions, method statements, RFIs, contractor proposals, and other construction\-stage documentation. * Provide technical leadership during construction, supporting the project team in resolving MEP\-related site issues, technical queries, design changes, and coordination requirements. * Coordinate directly with clients, project managers, consultants, contractors, authorities, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical and project\-related matters. * Oversee authority coordination and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with applicable UAE requirements and approval processes. * Ensure project designs comply with relevant UAE authorities and regulations, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, DDA, Trakhees, RTA, and other applicable authorities. * Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA, BS, and applicable UAE regulations. * Lead technical reviews, design audits, and quality assurance processes to ensure MEP deliverables meet project, statutory, and client requirements. * Drive value engineering and technical optimization, identifying opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, constructability, programme, and cost. * Monitor MEP design progress, deliverables, technical submissions, and coordination activities to ensure alignment with project programmes and milestones. * Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to mechanical and MEP engineering teams. * Participate in client meetings, design presentations, technical workshops, project reviews, site meetings, and coordination meetings as required. * Manage technical risks and ensure timely identification and resolution of issues that may impact project quality, programme, cost, or delivery. * Maintain effective technical communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and accredited university. * Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience in Mechanical / MEP Engineering. * Proven experience in an MEP Manager, Mechanical Manager, MEP Lead, or equivalent senior technical management position. * Strong background within a reputable engineering consultancy, with significant experience delivering multidisciplinary building projects. * Extensive UAE project experience with strong knowledge of local design standards, authority requirements, approval procedures, and project practices. * Demonstrated expertise in HVAC and Mechanical Building Services Engineering, including system design, coordination, technical review, and project delivery. * Strong understanding of the coordination and integration of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV, and other building services. * Proven experience delivering complex projects across sectors such as high\-rise, residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, mixed\-use, and large\-scale developments. * Strong knowledge of UAE authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, DDA, Trakhees, RTA, and other relevant authorities. * Strong knowledge of applicable international standards and codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA, BS, and relevant UAE regulations. * Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of BIM\-based design and coordination. * Strong working knowledge of Navisworks and multidisciplinary BIM coordination processes. * Extensive experience in reviewing and managing shop drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, RFIs, method statements, contractor proposals, and construction documentation. * Strong understanding of design management, technical governance, constructability, site coordination, and project execution. * Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, manage technical resources, and provide clear technical direction. * Strong ability to independently assess complex engineering matters and make sound technical and commercial decisions. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and authorities. * Strong leadership, analytical, problem\-solving, decision\-making, and organizational capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and technical deliverables within demanding project environments. * UAE consultancy experience is strongly preferred. * Professional engineering certification, chartership, or relevant UAE accreditation will be considered an advantage.
