Mechanical Supervisor

**Position**: Mechanical Supervisor **Location**: Qatar **Department**: Maintenance / MEP **Reports To**: Maintenance Manager / Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager **Job Purpose** The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection activities. The role involves leading technicians and subcontractors, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance is completed safely and on schedule, and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems to the required quality standards. **Key Responsibilities** * **Supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities and allocate work to technicians.** * Plan and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance activities. * **Inspect mechanical equipment and identify faults, defects, and potential failures.** * Supervise maintenance of HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, ventilation systems, valves, piping, and other mechanical equipment, as applicable to the project. * **Ensure all maintenance work is completed according to approved procedures, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.** * Monitor breakdown response and ensure equipment is restored within the required timeframe. * **Lead technicians and provide technical guidance and on\-the\-job training.** Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices. * **Coordinate with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and other departments.** * Supervise subcontractor activities and verify the quality of completed work. * **Ensure proper handover of completed jobs and shift activities.** Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, checklists, and work orders. * **Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.** * Monitor spare parts, tools, materials, and consumables required for maintenance activities. * **Assist in identifying recurring equipment problems and implementing corrective actions.** Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and applicable Qatar safety regulations. * **Support emergency maintenance and breakdown activities when required.** * Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions at the work site. **Required Qualifications** * **Diploma / ITI / Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.** * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage. * **Typically 5\+ years of relevant mechanical/MEP maintenance experience, depending on the project and level of responsibility.** * Qatar/GCC experience is preferred. * **Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, construction, or oil \& gas is an advantage.** * Knowledge of PPM, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures. * **Knowledge of CMMS/SAP or other maintenance\-management systems is an advantage.** * Qatar driving licence is an advantage for site\-based roles. **Key Skills** * **Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.** * Team leadership and manpower coordination. * **Good knowledge of HVAC/MEP systems where applicable.** * Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. * **Knowledge of HSE and permit\-to\-work procedures.** * Good communication and reporting skills. * **Ability to coordinate with clients, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.** * Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. * Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency breakdowns**.** **Preferred Qatar Experience** **Experience in HVAC, chilled\-water systems, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, plumbing/mechanical services, rotating equipment, or FM/MEP maintenance can be particularly relevant depending on the employer and project.** **Salary:** Based on the interview (Management decision) / Monthly **Contract:** One Year Application Question(s): * How many years of Qatar Experience do you have? * Do you have Qatar Driving license? * What is your notice period?
