Job description

• Lead and manage the site workforce, ensuring high performance, discipline, and adherence to safety standards. • Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities across fertilizer plant equipment and utilities to ensure maximum plant reliability and operational efficiency. • Plan preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance activities for rotating, static, and utility equipment. • Optimize manpower allocation, resources, and maintenance schedules to improve productivity and minimize downtime. • Establish performance targets, conduct team evaluations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, statutory regulations, and plant safety procedures. • Coordinate with production, engineering, contractors, and vendors to execute maintenance activities and meet operational targets. • Manage maintenance budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality. • Serve as the primary point of contact for plant management and client representatives, ensuring timely resolution of operational and maintenance issues. • Attend planning and review meetings, present maintenance performance, shutdown progress, and reliability improvement plans. • B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. • 8–10 years of experience in fertilizer plant maintenance , preferably in ammonia, urea, phosphatic, NPK, or complex fertilizer manufacturing facilities. • Strong experience in maintenance planning, shutdown/turnaround execution, equipment reliability, and asset integrity management. • Hands-on knowledge of rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines), static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors), piping systems, and utilities. • Thorough understanding of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices. • Strong knowledge of HSE standards, PTW systems, risk assessment, and statutory compliance in process industries. • Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams and contractors. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. • Experience in maintenance budgeting, resource optimization, and performance management. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and support plant shutdowns and emergency maintenance activities.
