Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible. **Job Description:** The Mechanical Engineer – VT is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and supporting the installation, testing, and commissioning of vertical transportation systems on high\-rise building construction projects. The role ensures that all elevator, escalator, and related VT works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations. The role is focused on construction supervision within the Parsons scope of work. **What You'll Be Doing:** * Supervise and monitor vertical transportation works on site, including elevators, escalators, moving walks, and related mechanical systems. * Ensure VT installation works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable standards. * Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and testing and commissioning plans related to VT systems. * Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration of VT systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and MEP works. * Monitor site progress and contractor performance, ensuring activities are executed in line with the approved program, quality standards, and safety requirements. * Witness installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for VT systems and verify compliance with project and authority requirements. * Inspect completed works, identify defects or non\-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions and closeout. * Prepare inspection reports, site observation reports, snag lists, and progress updates related to VT works. * Support the Resident Engineer / Construction Manager in resolving technical issues and ensuring effective coordination across the construction team. * Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, manufacturer standards, and SAPL supervision procedures. * Participate in technical meetings, site coordination meetings, progress reviews, and inspections as required. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. * Professional registration or membership is an advantage. * Minimum 8\+ years of related experience in high\-rise building construction projects. * Strong experience in supervision of vertical transportation systems, including elevators and escalators, within building construction projects. * Previous experience in construction supervision, consultant, PMC, or engineering supervision roles is preferred. * Good understanding of VT installation procedures, testing and commissioning requirements, QA/QC processes, and HSE standards. * Experience on major projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is an advantage. **What Desired Skills You'll Bring:** * Good knowledge of vertical transportation systems, including lifts, escalators, moving walks, machine room and machine\-room\-less systems, control systems, and associated interfaces with building services. * Familiarity with relevant international codes, standards, and local authority regulations applicable to VT systems. * Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, contractor submissions, and testing documentation.
