Mechanical Design Review & Compliance Engineer

MAB Consult is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Review & Compliance Engineer to join our Regulatory Services Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing mechanical design submissions, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), relevant international standards, and authority requirements, while supporting the delivery of complex projects across multiple sectors, including mission-critical facilities. Key Responsibilities Review HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection design submissions. Verify compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Civil Defense requirements, and applicable international standards. Conduct technical design reviews and prepare review comments and compliance reports. Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues. Support authority submissions and technical approvals. Review engineering calculations, technical reports, and shop drawings where applicable. Identify design risks, construct-ability issues, and regulatory gaps. Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in design review, technical compliance, or consulting. Strong knowledge of: Saudi Building Code (SBC) ASHRAE NFPA IPC / UPC SMACNA Relevant Saudi authority requirements Experience reviewing Data Centers, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, or large mixed-use developments is highly preferred. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE). Experience with Revit, Navisworks, and BIM workflows is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Architect of Record (AoR) or regulatory compliance roles. Familiarity with multidisciplinary design coordination and authority approval processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Work_Experience:5+ years
