Loss Prevention Engineer

**Job Description – Loss Prevention Engineer (Oil \& Gas)** **Position:** Loss Prevention Engineer **Location:** Qatar **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced **Loss Prevention Engineer** to join our Oil \& Gas project team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process safety risks to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and international regulations. The role involves supporting the design, construction, and commissioning phases by conducting safety studies, risk assessments, and loss prevention activities to ensure safe and reliable project execution. **Key Responsibilities** * Perform process safety and loss prevention engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. * Conduct and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, and other process safety studies. * Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with process safety and loss prevention requirements. * Prepare and review Fire \& Gas detection layouts, hazardous area classifications, fire protection systems, and emergency shutdown philosophies. * Perform risk assessments, consequence analyses, and safety evaluations. * Review PFDs, P\&IDs, cause\-and\-effect diagrams, and safety philosophies. * Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and client specifications. * Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and third\-party consultants on safety\-related matters. * Support project engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. * Prepare technical reports, safety documentation, and project deliverables. * Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions. * Promote continuous improvement in process safety and risk management practices. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in **Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering**, or an equivalent discipline. * Minimum **7–10 years of experience** in the Oil \& Gas industry. * Proven experience in **process safety, risk assessment, and loss prevention engineering**. * Experience conducting HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety studies. * Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, hazardous area classification, and process safety principles. * Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, NFPA, API, OSHA, and ISO. * Excellent analytical, communication, and problem\-solving skills.
