Job description
The Opportunity: The Logistics and Customs Operations Specialist manages end-to-end logistics and customs operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. The role oversees inbound and outbound shipments, coordinates with logistics providers and customs brokers, manages customs documentation and SAP GTS processes, resolves operational and customs-related issues, and supports strategic sourcing through spot RFIs/RFQs while driving strong LSP performance and service excellence. Your Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end transportation planning and execution for general cargo shipments, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery. Coordinate with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational, transportation, and documentation issues. Oversee import/export customs processes, including customs documentation, declarations, SAP GTS updates, and customs clearance support. Manage freight cost calculations, invoice verification, freight settlement, payment issues, and charge dispute resolution. Support spot RFQ/RFI activities and supplier selection in collaboration with sourcing teams. Drive supplier performance, non-conformance, and claims management processes while ensuring continuous improvement. Lead issue resolution related to logistics, customs, and shipment execution for inbound and outbound orders. Support customer, supplier, and LSP claims management, including cost evaluation, documentation, negotiation, and settlement. Monitor KPIs, prepare logistics performance reports, support S&OP reviews, and provide logistics expertise to business stakeholders. Deliver carrier training and ensure compliance with local operating procedures, HSE standards, and trade regulations.
A degree in Logistics Management or MBA in Logistics or Operations Management from a recognized institute. More than 6 years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management. Experience supporting Logistics and Customs operations in Thailand. Full understanding of local transportation (within country), import, export, trade and customs operations. Good relationships with local and global transport suppliers. Knowledge of SAP GTS Customs Management, SAP TM Transportation Management and SAP S/4HANA is preferred. Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
