Localization Quality Lead

About the Role Transnpack is seeking an experienced, detail\-oriented Localization Quality Lead to oversee quality assurance, linguistic integrity, and workflow standards across localized content and products. In this role, you will define quality frameworks, audit multilingual deliverables, manage freelance vendors and in\-house linguists, and implement continuous process improvements to ensure global user experience and brand accuracy. Key Responsibilities * Quality Assurance \& Auditing: Establish and enforce LQA (Localization Quality Assurance) frameworks, metrics (MQM/DQA standards), and evaluation criteria for localized content. * Linguist \& Vendor Management: Onboard, evaluate, and provide actionable feedback to freelance translators, reviewers, and Language Service Providers (LSPs). * Localization Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with project managers, product teams, and engineers to optimize Computer\-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, Translation Memories (TM), and Glossaries. * In\-Context QA: Perform and supervise linguistic and functional in\-context testing (UI overflow, date/currency formatting, cultural adaptation, and truncated text). * Machine Translation (MT) Quality: Evaluate and fine\-tune MT output and post\-editing workflows (MTPE) to optimize throughput while preserving target\-market nuance. * Root\-Cause Analysis: Conduct post\-delivery quality reviews, track recurring linguistic issues, and lead corrective action plans with language teams. Requirements \& Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. * 3–5\+ years of experience in localization quality management, LQA testing, or senior translation project management. * Mastery of modern CAT tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS) (e.g., Smartling, Phrase, Trados, MemoQ, Matecat). * Deep understanding of linguistic quality metrics, style guides, terminology management, and internationalization (i18n) best practices. * Strong command of English along with fluency in one or more additional target languages. * Excellent cross\-functional coordination, analytical problem\-solving, and team\-mentoring abilities.
