• About the Role We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Livestock Farm Manager/Animal Husbandry Manager to oversee the daily operations of a private family farm in Abu Dhabi. The farm includes cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry. The successful candidate will have strong practical experience managing mixed livestock farms while ensuring excellent animal welfare, efficient farm operations, and proper supervision of farm staff. This position is best suited to someone who enjoys working directly with animals and possesses solid knowledge of breeding, feeding, disease prevention, and livestock management. Key Responsibilities: Livestock Management • Manage the daily care of cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry. • Develop and monitor feeding and nutrition programs. • Ensure animals receive clean water and balanced nutrition. • Monitor body condition and productivity. • Plan seasonal livestock management activities. Animal Health • Monitor animal health daily. • Identify signs of illness or injury. • Coordinate veterinary visits. • Manage vaccination schedules. • Implement deworming programs. • Administer medications where appropriate. • Isolate sick animals when required. Breeding Management • Monitor breeding cycles. • Identify signs of heat. • Coordinate natural mating or artificial insemination where applicable. • Maintain breeding records. • Monitor pregnancy. • Assist during calving, kidding, and lambing. • Ensure proper newborn care. Record Keeping Maintain accurate records of: • Livestock inventory • Births and deaths • Vaccinations • Treatments • Breeding • Feed consumption • Production records • Veterinary reports Farm Operations • Supervise livestock attendants and farm workers. • Assign daily tasks. • Ensure proper cleaning of animal housing. • Maintain hygiene and biosecurity standards. • Monitor feed inventory. • Coordinate feed purchasing. • Inspect fences, water systems, and animal shelters. • Report maintenance requirements. Animal Welfare • Ensure humane treatment of all livestock. • Maintain clean and stress-free housing conditions. • Respond promptly to emergencies. • Implement disease prevention measures. Requirements Education: • Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or related field is preferred. • Practical experience is more important than formal qualifications. Experience: • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a mixed livestock farm. • Experience with cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry. • Experience on private farms or dairy farms is highly preferred. • Practical knowledge of breeding, feeding, vaccination, and animal health.
