The Linguistic Editor is responsible for ensuring the accurate, consistent, and legally precise translation of documents between Arabic and English. The role involves translating, reviewing, proofreading, and editing a wide range of legal and official documents, including studies, annual reports, presidential decisions, official correspondence, strategies, and periodical publications. The Linguistic Editor ensures that all translated content maintains the integrity, intent, and legal meaning of the original text while adhering to established legal terminology, linguistic standards, and organizational style guidelines. The position requires a strong understanding of legal terminology and the ability to maintain the integrity of the original content across languages. ### **Key Responsibilities** * Accurately translate legal documents, including studies, reports, decisions, and official correspondence, between Arabic and English while ensuring the preservation of legal meaning and terminology. * Carefully review and proofread all translated documents to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and alignment between the Arabic and English versions. * Edit and refine the language of official letters, reports, and other legal materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to legal standards. * Ensure consistency in the use of legal terminology across all translated and edited documents to maintain the integrity of the original content. * Follow established style guides and best practices for legal translation and editing to ensure professionalism and uniformity in all communications. * Work closely with lawyers, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to understand the context and ensure the accuracy and relevance of translations. * Assist in the translation and editing of periodical publications, reports, and strategies, ensuring proper alignment of content between Arabic and English. * Meet tight deadlines while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all translations and edits, maintaining a high standard of work under pressure. ### **Qualifications** #### **Education** * Bachelor's degree in Translation, Arabic Language, English Language, Linguistics, Law, or a related field. #### **Experience** * 7–10 years of professional experience in Arabic\-English legal translation and linguistic editing. * Experience working within a regulatory authority, government entity, judicial organization, or legal environment is highly desirable. * Proven experience translating and editing legal documents, official correspondence, reports, policies, regulations, and strategic publications. ### **Knowledge \& Skills** * Expert proficiency in written Arabic and English. * Strong knowledge of legal terminology and legal drafting principles in both languages. * Excellent proofreading, editing, and linguistic quality assurance skills. * Strong understanding of legal translation methodologies and best practices. * High attention to detail and accuracy. * Excellent analytical and comprehension skills. * Ability to interpret complex legal language while preserving meaning. * Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. * Excellent organisational and time management skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines. * High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information.
