WSP is seeking a highly experienced Lighting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the delivery of a major infrastructure construction supervision project in Riyadh. The role will provide technical leadership and oversight on all aspects of external, roadway, architectural and infrastructure lighting systems across the project. The Lighting SME will act as the project s focal point for lighting design review, construction compliance, quality assurance, and coordination with contractors, ensuring that lighting installations meet client specifications, international standards, safety requirements and local regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate must have extensive experience across major infrastructure, roads and highways projects, and be capable of working within a consultancy/supervision environment, ensuring design intent is effectively delivered through construction. • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. • Master s Degree preferred (optional). • 15+ years of experience in highway/road lighting design, supervision, and project execution. • Prior experience in Saudi Arabia, especially Riyadh, is strongly preferred. • Hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects. • Proficiency in lighting software: Dialux, AGi32, Relux. • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control systems, smart lighting, and energy-saving technologies. • Familiarity with NEC, IEC, IES, and Saudi Codes. Apply today. • Review and validate lighting designs for roads, highways, interchanges, tunnels, and bridges. • Ensure compliance with MOT, MOMRA, SEC, SABQ, and international standards (IES, CIE, BS/EN). • Evaluate lighting calculations, photometric analyses, and lumen output performance. • Advise on appropriate fixtures, poles, control systems, and energy-efficient solutions (e.g., LED, smart lighting). • Monitor installation of lighting poles, foundations, cables, power supply, control cabinets, and smart lighting systems. • Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure correct execution as per approved drawings and specifications. • Conduct site inspections, verify materials, and oversee testing & commissioning. • Identify installation issues and propose corrective actions. • Coordinate with civil, electrical, ITS, and design teams to ensure seamless integration of lighting systems. • Attend design coordination and progress meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients. • Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, NCRs, and quality documentation. Ensure all lighting works are executed in compliance with project safety protocols. • Promote best practices in electrical safety and equipment handling.
