Job description

• Prepare and review lifting plans and lifting method statements for routine and critical lifts. • Calculate crane capacities, load weights, load distribution, and lifting configurations. • Select appropriate lifting equipment, cranes, and rigging gear based on operational requirements. • Ensure all lifting operations comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company procedures. Conduct site inspections to assess lifting conditions, ground bearing capacity, and potential hazards. • Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, crane operators, riggers, and safety personnel before and during lifting activities. • Verify that lifting equipment and accessories have valid inspection and certification records. • Provide technical guidance during complex and critical lifting operations. • Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and pre-lift meetings. • Investigate lifting-related incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Maintain accurate documentation of lifting plans, inspections, and operational records. • Ensure compliance with client specifications and project quality requirements. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • Professional certification in lifting operations is preferred (e.g., Lifting Equipment Engineers Association certification or equivalent). • Valid engineering registration or license, where applicable. 5–8 years of experience in lifting engineering, crane operations, or heavy lifting projects. • Experience in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects. Proven experience in preparing lifting studies and critical lift plans. • Strong knowledge of crane load charts and lifting calculations. Familiarity with international lifting standards and safety regulations. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. • Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple lifting activities simultaneously. Lifting Equipment Engineers Association certification. • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (where applicable). Relevant HSE certifications such as Working at Height, Rigging, or Crane Safety. • First Aid and Fire Safety certifications (preferred)
