Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Controller for the Kuwait KC\-130J Program at Al Mubarak airfield in Kuwait has is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in daily operation and management and administration of the aircraft maintenance program, maintenance personnel, and maintenance actions required to support the customer’s missions and flight schedules. The Maintenance Controller assigns priorities and directs maintenance personnel to correct discrepancies, generate work orders, track and comply with all inspection requirements, compile and record maintenance data applicable to the Maintenance Information System (MIS), provide the ability to compare records and reports on consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production. **Description:*** Act as point of contact for all aircraft discrepancies that may affect daily operations and mission success.
* Direct and coordinate all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions and workload planning
* Attend meetings with the customer and provide information, reports, and official correspondence regarding aircraft status, mission capability, and maintenance planning information.
* Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and customer representatives in the management of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure the most efficient use of time and resources.
* Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
* Manage completion of maintenance actions and ensure the complete and accurate entry of data into the Maintenance Information System (MIS).
* Coordinate with adjacent contractors and supporting agencies to acquire necessary tools, parts, support, materials, and equipment to prevent maintenance stoppages.
* Ensure accuracy of documentation, (i.e., aircraft, engine, propeller, logbooks, weight and balance records, and MIS) and adherence to technical publications, policies, procedures, and safe maintenance practices.
* Prepares and sends required reports and attend staff / customer meetings as required.
* Coordinate troubleshooting efforts on complex maintenance discrepancies, making recommendations for courses of action based on aircraft service history analysis, applicable Maintenance Manual guidance, and operator experience.
* Use illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB)s to determine material requirements, research associated part numbers, and order parts.
* Monitor and track all life limited components, periodic special, hourly, conditional, and phase maintenance/isochronal inspections as required by the Periodic Maintenance Requirements Manual, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC)s, manufacturer’s specifications, and all applicable directives, orders, and instructions.
* Coordinate with operations personnel and aircrew members to ensure the flight schedule is adequately supported and missions are able to be conducted within prescribed timelines.
* Conduct off\-station maintenance when required.
* Assist in the conduct of maintenance on the flight line and back shops as required to ensure aircraft are available to support the flight schedule.
* When necessary, perform other duties and functions critical to the support of the program.
Qualifications:
**Education / Certifications:*** High School Diploma
Must be able to obtain/maintain the following required certifications/qualifications:* This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level security clearance.
* Aircraft Weight \& Balance certification
* Safe for Flight certification
* Aviation Gas Free Engineering (AVGFE) certification
* Hydraulic Contamination certification
* “I” Level \& “O” Level Tire \& Wheel certification
* “I” Level MLG Brake repair / rebuilding qualification
* Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) run qualification
* Applicable Support Equipment licensing
* Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification
* Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) qualification
* Corrosion Prevention and Control and Aircraft Paint qualification
* Confined Space Entry certification
**Experience:*** Eight years’ aircraft maintenance experience with five years’ experience working on C\-130J aircraft preferred.
* Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) 4790\.2 or equivalent experience with Air Force Instruction 21\-101 preferred.
* Safe for Flight experience and certification specific to C\-130J aircraft preferred.
* Must have a working knowledge of first aid procedures to be used in an emergency.
* Must have a strong knowledge base of aviation maintenance programs, processes, and procedures (example: Safety, Tool Control, HAZMAT, inspection programs, administrative requirements, support equipment, calibration/torque programs \& procedures).
**Specific Requirements:*** Must be United States (U.S.) citizen, be able to read, write, and understand the English language
* Must be able to obtain a United States Passport. If you currently possess a United States Passport it must have at least 24 months of time remaining before expiration.
* Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
* Must be willing to follow Kuwait Labor Law policies and able to adhere to and comply with all Kuwaiti Labor and Immigration requirements.
* Must be willing to administrate, maintain, and manage maintenance programs (ex. Tool Control, HAZMAT, FOD, MetCal, etc…) as required by local policies.
* Must be willing and able to comply with all program functional requirements to include but not limited to: The performance of “I” Level maintenance functions in support of In\-Flight Refueling Reel/system maintenance, NLG \& MLG Tire re\-building, MLG Brake repair/rebuilding, Battery maintenance support, and Oxygen Regulator testing/repair.
* Must be willing and able to deploy off\-site as required to support Kuwait Air Force operations.
* Must be willing to work flexible hours, to include day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.
* Must have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and follow instructions when directed on assigned tasks.
* Must have skills and aptitude to cross train and/or support other maintenance technicians in completing assigned maintenance actions, to include but not limited to: The performance and completion of daily inspections (including the ability to inspect/sign off on all associated aircraft maintenance/technician specialties), marshalling/recovering aircraft, fueling, towing, mooring, and conducting post flight procedures to ensure aircraft are properly secured upon completion of maintenance.
* As a Subject Matter Expert, must be willing to perform in\-depth research, troubleshoot, and perform “O” and “I” level maintenance functions on all applicable aircraft systems and components necessary to return aircraft to a Full Mission Capable status; this includes determining material requirements, researching part numbers, ordering, tracking, and receiving materials as required to facilitate aircraft inspections/repairs.
* Must be able to communicate directly with the customer, pilots, air crew members, management, and maintenance personnel to gather and relay pertinent data/information necessary to ensure aircraft depart timely and launches are not delayed.
* Must have an in\-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications—read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.
* Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create/modify briefs, spreadsheets, and formal requests/documentation.
* Must have an in\-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
* Must be able to overcome cultural differences and to think outside the box, innovate, and provide solutions to the many complex problems and obstacles associated with international contracting and desert climate operations.
* Must perform as a team member, contributing to the success of the C\-130J maintenance department.
* Must be dependable and timely in managing assigned tasks, perform consistent quality maintenance.
* Must have a proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.
**Material \& Equipment Directly Used**
Must have a working knowledge of and be proficient with (input and extract data) of computers, aircraft data debriefing and diagnostic software (DTADS), and maintenance information systems. **Working Environment**
Environmental conditions are diverse and could range anywhere from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. On occasion individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail, and hearing protection is required. **Physical Activities**

Employees are frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and climb on top of aircraft and maintenance platforms.
