Junior Procurement Officer

Job Purpose To support the procurement of materials, tools, hardware, consumables, and other requirements for the **carpentry, signage, and fabrication departments**, ensuring materials are purchased on time, at competitive prices, and according to project requirements. Key Responsibilities * Receive material and purchase requests from carpentry, signage, and fabrication teams. * Source and purchase materials from approved suppliers. * Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing. * Prepare purchase orders and follow the company approval process. * Follow up with suppliers on orders, delivery schedules, and urgent requirements. * Coordinate with the factory, production, stores, and project teams regarding material requirements. * Check delivered materials against purchase orders, quantities, and specifications. * Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier information. * Monitor stock levels of commonly used materials and consumables. * Assist in finding alternative suppliers and cost\-saving options. * Report delays, shortages, quality issues, or price changes to the concerned manager. * Maintain good working relationships with suppliers. * Ensure all purchases are made according to company procedures and project requirements. Materials \& Products The candidate should have, or be willing to develop, knowledge of materials such as: * **Carpentry:** MDF, plywood, timber, veneer, laminates, edging, adhesives, hardware, and finishing materials. * **Signage:** Acrylic, PVC, aluminium composite panels, vinyl, LED modules, transformers, profiles, and signage accessories. * **Fabrication:** Mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, sheets, pipes, profiles, welding consumables, fasteners, and related hardware. * Paints, chemicals, abrasives, tools, safety items, and general workshop consumables. Qualifications \& Experience * Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. * **1–2 years of procurement experience**, preferably in carpentry, signage, fabrication, joinery, interior fit\-out, or construction. * Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. * Good communication and negotiation skills. * Good English communication skills. * Strong follow\-up and organisational skills. * Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent production requirements.
