IT Infrastructure Specialist – Banking & Enterprise Infrastructure

**Job Description** **Infrastructure Specialist – Banking \& Enterprise Infrastructure** **Position Summary** The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and improving the Bank's core infrastructure platforms that support critical banking services. The role encompasses Windows Server, Linux, Nutanix, enterprise storage, backup and recovery systems, disaster recovery solutions, and core banking infrastructure running on Oracle Solaris/SPARC platforms. The position serves as the Bank's technical owner and primary point of coordination for these environments, ensuring high availability, security, operational stability, and compliance with banking regulatory requirements. While certain specialized platforms may be managed by external vendors, the Infrastructure Specialist is expected to maintain a strong technical understanding of the overall architecture and provide hands\-on support for infrastructure implementation, troubleshooting, hardware installation, and vendor coordination activities. **Key Responsibilities** **Core Banking Infrastructure Support** * Support and maintain infrastructure components supporting the Bank's Core Banking systems. * Maintain working knowledge of Oracle Solaris operating systems and SPARC\-based server infrastructure. * Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity utilization. * Coordinate with application, database, network, and vendor teams to resolve infrastructure\-related issues. * Participate and Coordinate in system upgrades, patching, maintenance activities, and technology refresh initiatives. * Ensure operational readiness and availability of production, disaster recovery, and non\-production environments. **Windows \& Linux Server Administration** * Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments. * Administer and support Linux operating systems, including system monitoring, patching, security hardening, and troubleshooting. * Provision, configure, and maintain server infrastructure according to Bank standards. * Perform vulnerability remediation and security compliance activities. * Support Active Directory integration, DNS services, and related infrastructure components. * Develop and maintain automation scripts where appropriate to improve operational efficiency. **Nutanix Infrastructure Administration** * Administer and support Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure platforms. * Monitor cluster health, performance, storage utilization, and capacity requirements. * Manage virtual machine provisioning, maintenance, and lifecycle activities. * Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects. * Troubleshoot platform\-related incidents and coordinate vendor support when required. **Storage, Backup \& Disaster Recovery Support** * Maintain a strong understanding of the Bank's Dell Storage, replication, Dell NetWorker, and Dell Data Domain environments. * Monitor storage capacity, replication status, backup operations, and overall platform health. * Coordinate with third\-party vendor teams responsible for storage and backup administration. * Validate successful completion of backup, replication, and recovery activities. * Support disaster recovery testing, failover exercises, and recovery validation activities. * Maintain disaster recovery documentation and operational procedures. * Ensure storage and backup environments support business continuity and regulatory requirements. **Data Center \& Hardware Infrastructure Support** * Coordinate with third\-party vendors to perform physical installation, replacement, and maintenance of infrastructure hardware, including servers, storage systems, backup appliances, and related components. * Coordinate with third\-party vendors to install and manage rack infrastructure, structured cabling, power connectivity, and equipment labeling. * Support hardware troubleshooting and fault identification activities. * Assist vendors with hardware upgrades, maintenance, replacement of failed components, and data center implementation activities. * Validate physical infrastructure changes and maintain accurate documentation. * Maintain hardware inventories, rack layouts, and connectivity diagrams. **Vendor Coordination \& Operational Ownership** * Act as the Bank's primary infrastructure representative for vendor\-managed platforms. * Coordinate activities between vendors, application teams, database administrators, network teams, and business stakeholders. * Provide hands\-on support for remote vendor resources during troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises. * Review technical recommendations and implementation plans provided by vendors. * Ensure vendor activities comply with change management, security, and operational procedures. * Maintain technical understanding of all vendor\-supported infrastructure platforms to effectively support and oversee their operation. **Security, Compliance \& Risk Management** * Ensure infrastructure platforms comply with Bank security policies and regulatory requirements. * Support vulnerability management and remediation initiatives. * Participate in internal and external audits and provide technical evidence when required. * Ensure system hardening standards and security best practices are implemented. * Support privileged access management and infrastructure security controls. * Participate in operational risk assessments and infrastructure resiliency initiatives. **Monitoring \& Incident Management** * Coordinate with third\-party vendor to provide Level 2 and Level 3 infrastructure support. * Monitor infrastructure alerts and proactively address operational issues. * Coordinate with third\-party vendors to perform root cause analysis for major incidents and service disruptions. * Participate in On\-Call support and critical incident response activities when required. * Maintain operational procedures, support documentation, and knowledge repositories. **Project Delivery \& Continuous Improvement** * Manage infrastructure implementation, upgrade, and migration projects. * Support and manage technology refresh initiatives and infrastructure modernization programs. * Prepare technical documentation, implementation plans, rollback procedures, and operational runbooks. * Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and service improvement. * Support capacity planning and long\-term infrastructure strategy initiatives. **Security, Compliance \& Risk Management**: * Collaborate closely with Internal Audit, IT Governance, Information Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to support audits, regulatory assessments, security reviews, policy implementation, evidence collection, and remediation of infrastructure\-related findings. **Qualifications** **Education** * Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. **Experience** * Minimum 3 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments. * Experience supporting mission\-critical systems within banking, financial services, or similarly regulated industries is preferred. * Experience with Windows Server, Unix/Linux, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies. * Experience working with third\-party vendors and managed service providers. **Technical Skills** **Required** * Microsoft Windows recovery exercises, and critical infrastructure changes outside business hours. * Occasional work within data center facilities for hardware installation, cabling, troubleshooting, and vendor support activities.
