Job description
Marketing \& Content Intern – International Football
**Organization:** XS Management
**Location:** Hybrid / Flexible
**Type:** Internship (16–40 hours per week)
**Start Date:** Flexible, in consultation
**Duration:** 6, 9, or 12 months
**Please note:** While Grit Studios islisted as the location or associated company on this vacancy, this internship is **not a position within the gym itself**. Grit Studios provides the professional working environment and workspace from which you may operate. Your actual responsibilities will be focused on **XS Management and our projects within international professional football**.
About XS Management
XS Management operates within the world of international professional football, working across marketing, digital media, content, partnerships, brand development and community.
We work in a fast\-moving environment where **football, media, culture and business** come together.
Our work ranges from managing digital platforms and developing content strategies to supporting international campaigns, media opportunities, partnerships, community initiatives and new digital projects.
Across the platforms we work with, our content currently reaches **more than 30 million people every month**.
Due to the nature of our work, discretion is essential. Specific clients, projects and partnerships are therefore not disclosed during the initial application process.
As we continue to expand our digital and marketing activities, we are looking for an ambitious **Marketing \& Content Intern** who already understands the fundamentals of marketing and wants to develop further within the highest level of professional football.
Before You Apply
Please read this section carefully.
**Do not apply if you have little to no knowledge of football.**
Football is at the core of what we do. You should understand the game, its culture, its audience and the digital world surrounding it. We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect football to be something you genuinely understand and follow.
**Do not apply if you're simply looking for an easy internship to complete your required hours.**
We invest significant time, knowledge and resources into the people who join our team. Our intention is therefore not to find someone who disappears immediately after completing an internship.
We're looking for someone who sees an internship as the **starting point of a potentially long\-term collaboration**.
If we invest in your development and you prove your value, our goal is for you to continue growing alongside the team as our projects, platforms and opportunities expand.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects reaching **30\+ million people every month** and gain experience within international professional football that can become a meaningful part of your CV and portfolio.
But that opportunity comes with expectations.
You need to understand the role, take responsibility seriously and genuinely want to contribute.
**Please read the entire vacancy before applying. If the responsibilities and expectations below don't match what you're looking for, this internship probably isn't the right fit.**
The Role
This is not an internship where you'll spend your time observing from the sidelines.
You'll become part of ongoing projects and gradually take ownership based on your skills, ideas and performance.
We're specifically looking for someone who can **think creatively about social media**.
We don't just need someone who can execute a content calendar.
We want someone who sees a moment, trend or opportunity and immediately starts thinking:
**What can we do with this? How can we make it different? Why would people want to watch or share it?**
You should be able to come up with **new social concepts, formats, campaigns and content ideas** rather than relying solely on what's already being done.
Your responsibilities may include:
* Supporting social media management across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Snapchat and LinkedIn
* Developing original social media concepts and recurring content formats
* Generating creative ideas around football, lifestyle, culture and relevant moments
* Supporting content strategy and maintaining content calendars
* Identifying emerging trends, formats and opportunities before they become mainstream
* Preparing posts, captions, stories and other digital assets
* Supporting short\-form and long\-form video projects
* Assisting with content shoots and productions
* Researching creators, brands, platforms and potential collaborations
* Supporting community\-building and fan engagement initiatives
* Helping develop new digital platforms and projects
* Supporting livestreaming and interactive content
* Monitoring social performance and identifying opportunities for growth
* Conducting research across football, sports marketing and digital media
* Supporting brand partnerships and activations
* Helping prepare presentations, reports and creative proposals
* Coordinating with external creatives, agencies and partners
* Contributing ideas for new commercial, content and community opportunities
* Supporting project management across ongoing marketing initiatives
No two weeks will necessarily look the same.
**Professional football moves quickly, and so do we.**
Who We're Looking For
This is **not an entry\-level introduction to marketing**.
You don't need years of professional experience, but you should already have a solid understanding of marketing, social media and content.
This may come from previous internships, freelance work, personal projects, running social accounts, university projects or other relevant experience.
We're looking for someone who:
* Has a strong understanding of football and football culture
* Has existing experience or demonstrated skills in marketing, social media or content
* Understands how Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other major platforms work
* Is a **creative thinker who can independently develop new social media concepts**
* Understands the difference between simply posting content and building a brand
* Constantly follows what's happening across social media and digital culture
* Can identify trends without blindly copying them
* Thinks about why content performs, not just what performs
* Is proactive and comfortable taking initiative
* Can bring ideas to the team without waiting to be asked
* Is reliable and comfortable handling responsibility
* Is organized and detail\-oriented
* Can work independently
* Is comfortable working in a dynamic international environment
* Communicates professionally
* Is open to feedback and able to implement it quickly
* Can think strategically rather than simply execute tasks
* Is discreet when working with confidential information
* Has the ambition to grow into a larger role over time
Experience with tools such as **Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, ChatGPT, Meta Business Suite or similar marketing and content tools** is highly valued.
What You'll Develop
You'll already need a foundation in marketing, but this internship is designed to accelerate that experience in a highly specialized environment.
You'll gain practical experience across:
Sports Marketing
Understand how marketing operates within international professional football and how decisions change when millions of people may see the result.
Social Media Strategy
Work across major platforms and understand how each one contributes to a broader digital ecosystem.
Creative Concept Development
Learn how to turn moments, trends and ideas into original social concepts and repeatable formats.
Content \& Storytelling
Develop concepts and learn how football, lifestyle and behind\-the\-scenes moments can become compelling digital stories.
Brand Development
Learn how a global personal brand is developed, positioned and protected over the long term.
Community Management
Understand how large digital audiences can be transformed into engaged communities.
Partnerships \& Activations
Gain exposure to collaborations involving global brands, media companies, creators and other partners.
Analytics \& Growth
Use audience insights and performance data to identify opportunities and improve digital performance.
Project Management
Learn how projects are coordinated between multiple stakeholders in a high\-performance environment.
Mentorship \& Long\-Term Development
You'll work closely with the marketing team at XS Management and receive direct guidance throughout your internship.
We believe in giving talented people real opportunities.
That also means we expect something in return.
We invest time into teaching, feedback, access and development because we're looking for people who could become a **long\-term part of our team**.
As you demonstrate creativity, reliability and initiative, you'll receive increasing ownership over projects and responsibilities.
Strong performance can lead to opportunities beyond the original internship period.
Our goal isn't simply to fill an internship position.
**We want to find talent that can grow with us.**
Working Hours \& Flexibility
Every university and internship program has different requirements.
The internship can therefore be structured between **16 and 40 hours per week**, depending on your academic requirements and availability.
The exact schedule will be agreed upon before the internship begins.
The position operates in a **hybrid and flexible environment**.
Some responsibilities can be handled remotely, while specific projects, events, productions or meetings may require availability on location.
Professional football and digital media don't always operate within traditional office hours. Occasionally, flexibility may therefore be required around important matches, campaigns, productions or events.
What We Offer
* Hands\-on experience within international professional football
* The opportunity to contribute to platforms reaching **30\+ million people every month**
* Exposure to high\-level sports marketing and digital media
* Real responsibility from the beginning
* Direct mentorship and regular feedback
* Experience working on projects with international reach
* Exposure to brands, media, creators and other partners
* A dynamic and entrepreneurial working environment
* Flexible working arrangements
* The opportunity to pitch and execute your own concepts
* Increasing ownership based on performance
* Valuable experience for your CV and portfolio
* The opportunity to grow alongside an expanding team
* Potential for a long\-term collaboration after successfully completing the internship
Confidentiality
Discretion is essential.
You may gain access to private information, unreleased content, internal strategies and confidential projects.
Depending on your responsibilities, you may be required to sign a **Non\-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)** before receiving access to certain information, accounts or projects.
Interested?
Send us your:
* **CV**
* **Portfolio or examples of previous work**
* **Short introduction about yourself**
In your application, we'd especially like you to answer:
**1\. Why do you want to work within international football and sports marketing?**
**2\. What relevant marketing, social media or content experience do you already have?**
**3\. What's one social media concept you would introduce if you were working on the personal brand of a top\-level professional footballer?**
That final question matters.
We don't necessarily want the candidate with the longest CV.
We want someone who understands the opportunity, already has a strong foundation and can bring **creativity, initiative, reliability and new ideas** to our team.
If that's you, we'd like to hear from you.
