Internal Auditor

**Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced **Internal Auditor** with expertise in hotel operations and financial controls. In this role, you will evaluate and test operational procedures, revenue handling, inventory controls, and statutory compliance across all hotel departments—including Front Office, Food \& Beverage, Banquets, Housekeeping, and Purchasing. Your objective is to minimize revenue leakage, prevent fraud, ensure brand compliance, and optimize operational efficiency. **Key Responsibilities** * **Revenue \& Sales Audit:** Conduct detailed audits of daily room revenue, room rates, discounts, complimentary stays, and night audit balancing. Verify point\-of\-sale (POS) transactions across restaurants, bars, spas, and banquet operations. * **Cash \& Tender Controls:** Perform surprise drop audits on front desk cash drawers, restaurant floats, main safe deposit boxes, and foreign currency exchange logs. * **F\&B \& Inventory Management:** Audit food and beverage cost controls, perpetual vs. physical inventory counts, spoilage logs, high\-value beverage stores, and linen controls. * **Purchasing \& Vendor Management:** Review the procurement\-to\-pay process, verifying competitive bidding practices, vendor contracts, receiving dock procedures, and invoice matching. * **Night Audit \& PMS Oversight:** Evaluate Property Management System (PMS) access privileges, user override rights, postings, and system log exceptions to spot unauthorized rate adjustments or voided checks. * **Compliance \& Brand Standards:** Ensure hotel operations comply with local health and safety standards, PCI\-DSS (credit card data safety), labor laws, brand guidelines, and Hotel Management Agreements (HMA). * **Audit Reporting:** Prepare clear, action\-oriented audit reports for the Financial Controller and General Manager, recommending realistic operational improvements for non\-compliance findings. **Key Qualifications \& SkillsEducation \& Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. * **Preferred:** Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE), or CPA. **Experience \& Technical Skills** * \[2–5\+] years of internal or external audit experience within the **hotel, resort, or hospitality sector**. * Hands\-on experience with hotel management platforms and software: * **PMS / POS Systems:** Opera, MicroSter/Oracle Hospitality, Agilysys, Infor, or similar. * **Inventory Systems:** Materials Control (MC), BirchStreet, etc. * In\-depth understanding of **USALI** (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry). * Solid knowledge of cash handling controls, F\&B cost control metrics, and purchasing workflows.
