Job description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for driving and operating Forklift Trucks with varying lifting capacities, ranging from 2 to 15 tons, during assigned shifts. This role involves removing, transporting, lifting, loading, and unloading vehicles, as well as stacking a wide range of materials, equipment, crates, and general items. The operator is also tasked with performing regular maintenance and servicing of the Forklift to ensure safe operation at all times. Compliance with company Health, Safety, Security, Environment policies, procedures, and guidelines is required. • Have a minimum of one (1) year practical experience in forklift operations, preferably within oil & gas or similar industrial environments. • Demonstrate knowledge of forklift manufacturer’s operating instructions, load charts, safety devices, operating limitations, and basic maintenance requirements. • Demonstrate competency in assessing loads, including estimation of load centre of gravity, weight distribution, stability, and impact on forklift balance. • Be competent in conducting pre‑operational inspections, identifying unsafe or abnormal conditions, and reporting defects in accordance with site and maintenance procedures. • Be capable of understanding and communicating in English (reading, writing, and speaking) sufficiently to follow procedures, permits, signage, instructions, and emergency communications. • Demonstrate knowledge of safe material handling practices, including lifting, transporting, stacking, loading, unloading, parking, and isolation of forklifts. • Be familiar with Simple Lifting Operations, Permit to Work requirements, site lifting controls, and the Forklift Operator’s role within the approved lifting/material handling team, in accordance with ADNOC HSE‑PSW‑CP19. • Demonstrate the ability to exercise Stop‑Work Authority and respond appropriately to emergency situations, including equipment failure, load instability, and site emergency instructions.
