**Working Relationships** ------------------------- **Internal:** * Working in Workshop – Finishing Section * Work as a team member in Workshop – Finishing and follow supervisor's instructions * Support Sr. Technician – Finishing **External:** * As required **General Summary** =================== To perform maintenance and overhauling activities of the Finishing Section throughout the plant with high proficiency, quality, and maximum safety standards. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** ========================================= ### **Implement Production Optimization** * Execute scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of equipment to optimize production and minimize plant downtime related to maintenance activities. ### **Facilitate Corrective Action** * Perform troubleshooting during shutdowns of mechanical equipment and assist in identifying root causes for corrective actions. * Attend mechanical maintenance issues during plant shutdowns and communicate equipment abnormalities to supervisors for planning and rectification. * Ensure availability of required tools and tackles. ### **Meet Engineering and Safety Principles** * Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations during maintenance activities in the Finishing Section. ### **Assistance and Support** * Assist Sr. Technician – Finishing in all technical activities to ensure smooth maintenance operations during shutdowns. * Act as Sr. Technician in the absence of the Sr. Technician or whenever required by the section. ### **Following Standards** * Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in Workshop – Finishing. ### **Health, Safety and Environmental Practices** * Comply with all relevant safety, quality, health, and environmental policies and procedures applicable to maintenance activities. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required** ============================================ * Ability to deliver agreed outcomes. * Willingness to learn and work effectively as part of a team. * Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and resolve maintenance issues. * Good troubleshooting skills. * Ability to work with minimal supervision. * Safe work practices and safety awareness. * Good communication skills with supervisors and team members. * Proficiency in using hand tools, measuring tools, portable tools, and tackles. **Minimum Education Qualifications** ==================================== **Mandatory:** * ITI in Mechanical Fitter Trade. **Required Technical Knowledge:** * Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance. * Knowledge and skills in troubleshooting mechanical problems. * Understanding of engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits. **Professional Experience** =========================== **Mandatory:** * 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a steel plant as a Technician / Fitter. **Preferred:** * Knowledge of rigging and slinging activities. **Key Performance Indicators** ============================== * Ensure implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment practices to achieve zero accidents. * Optimize maintenance costs related to mechanical repairs and downtime reduction. * Support corrective actions for timely resolution of maintenance issues. * Ensure compliance with planned maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques. **Technical Competencies** ========================== CompetencyLevelMeasuring InstrumentsIntermediateMechanical Assembly PracticesIntermediateLimit, Fit, and ToleranceIntermediateFastenersIntermediateMechanical Power TransmissionIntermediateRigging and Lifting Tools \& TacklesIntermediateEngineering Machine DrawingIntermediateSAP PMBasicWorkplace SafetyAdvancedQuality Management SystemBasicMS OfficeIntermediateWelding and Gas CuttingIntermediate **Working Conditions** ====================== The role involves working in an industrial workshop environment with exposure to: * Noise * Dust * Oil and grease * Heat * Mechanical equipment * Maintenance activities during shutdowns * Potential workplace hazards requiring strict adherence to safety procedures
