Financial Analyst

**JOB PURPOSE** The role holder is responsible to perform independent financial analysis to determine risks involved in the financing facilities proposed to clients prior to submission for approval. Assist the department in performing various support activities such as preparing credit applications, developing and analysing credit information, preparing credit reports, maintaining control over credit requirements of current accounts, providing information in response to inquiries, etc. Key Responsibilities **Core Responsibilities** § Based on primary and secondary sources of information, analyse the credit and industry financial risks in which the client's business operates. § analyse the business specific information including company’s financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, project cash flows, and business plans) to evaluate potential customer's financial status and their ability to repay their facility. § Prepare Industry reports and perform peer analysis. § Prepare Credit Applications (CAs) in coordination with the respective Relationship Manager (RM) and in compliance with the bank’s credit policy and procedure manual. § Develop credit information for use by the corporate department in order to support the lending decisions on new, renewal and extension of loans. § Prepare review list reports, past due report, and financial covenant report. § Monitor files to assure that up\-to\-date financial statements, accounts receivable, aging, and other items are available for all customers requiring such information. § Maintain control over customer accounts, monitor any developing problems and keep the Relationship Managers informed. § Respond to both written and verbal credit inquiries and compose credit letters regarding bank customers by compiling all pertinent information and reporting to the interested pay. **Self\- Management Responsibilities** § Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved during the course of the year. § Take ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs in consultation with the reporting manager and working towards bridging the gaps through various means which go beyond just training. § Understand the competencies relevant to his/her role and works towards displaying as well as developing these effectively. § Keep abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional networks. **QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE** Threshold Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or any other relevant qualifications. * FAP Certificate is preferred. Years \& Nature of Experience § Minimum 5\-6 years of practical experience in a bank with 3 years in the same or similar function. **SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES** § Understanding of the Bank's marketing strategy as well as risk policy and understanding customer’s exposure. § Knowledge of the products and services offered to Commercial Customers. § Good analytical thinking and possess methodological approach in assessing risk. § Excellent communication skills together with transparency, reliability, flexibility, and open minded. § Able to work under pressure on a high\-quality level and to meet deadlines consistently. § Result and client oriented with a high level of risk awareness. § PC literacy.
