**Job purpose**Provide robust production\-engineering expertise to the subsurface development of the Operated Assets Subsurface function, under the direction of the TL Production Engineer BISAT Development, by supporting field\-based production activities, planning production, well design, and completion, and applying production\-engineering practices to well and reservoir management, well design and completion, and Integrated Production Modelling (IPM), in order to optimise well and field performance and support the safe, reliable, and efficient production of significant oil and gas deposits.
The position will act in accordance with the OQEP's Mission, Vision, Values \& Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, QHSE \& Energy Management System requirements standards, Omani's government \& other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
**Main tasks and responsibilities*** Provide robust technical production\-engineering expertise, support, and innovative solutions for the execution of the production\-engineering process, ensuring common engineering principles and concepts are applied; may handle a large scope of activities simultaneously and provide guidance to junior engineers and trainees.
* Optimise well production through daily well\-surveillance monitoring and troubleshooting of well\-performance issues.
* Hold direct responsibility for a range of activities including well surveillance, frac\-job design and implementation, well testing, artificial\-lift selection and design, completion and workover design and execution, well\-intervention proposals, and well\-stimulation design and execution.
* Analyse and interpret field information using available engineering tools, making recommendations to optimise production and support field development.
* Contribute to monthly production planning and reservoir\-surveillance planning as required.
* Hold direct responsibility for monitoring well failure rates, conducting the required Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and recommending solutions to reduce such rates.
* Participate in integrated field studies for maturing hydrocarbon resources.
* Evaluate well and reservoir performance and recommend production\-improvement opportunities.
* Provide production\-engineering input to business planning and well proposals, and participate in the preparation of development plans and optimisation studies to maximise project value.
* Work closely with Reservoir Engineers and Geologists to maximise the value of assigned assets.
* Ensure all evaluations are documented and related data is handled in accordance with the Company's Data Management Standards.
* Work safely and proactively promote the Company's occupational health, safety, security, and environment culture, ensuring compliance with HSE and process\-safety requirements and participating in HSE programs.
* Fulfil stand\-by / on\-call duties when required.
* Perform other similar duties as assigned by the TL Production Engineer BISAT Development.
**Key interactions**
**Internal:** TL Production Engineer BISAT Development and the Subsurface \& Operation 60\&48 team, and enabling functions (Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Well Delivery, Operations, Facilities, and HSSE).
**External:** Contractors, service providers, and technical consultants; OQ Group (parent\-company interfaces, as applicable).
**Notable Working Conditions.** Combination of field operational environment and office\-based technical work; regular presence at well sites and operating facilities to support well surveillance, production troubleshooting, well interventions, stimulation, workover activities, and production optimisation. The role may require working in remote operational areas, exposure to live production environments, and participation in stand\-by / on\-call duties as required.
**Education requirements**
* Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent
Master’s degree (preferred)

**Language requirements**Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required).
**Background and experience**
**Competencies and skills**
* A minimum of 6\+ years' relevant experience in production engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry.
* Experience in production optimisation, well surveillance, and troubleshooting of well\-performance issues.
* Experience in artificial\-lift selection and design, completion and workover design, well intervention, and stimulation.
* Experience in well testing, frac\-job design, and RCFA.
* Proficiency in industry\-standard production\-engineering and nodal\-analysis tools (e.g., PROSPER/GAP or equivalent).
* Good understanding of reservoir behaviour, production operations, and completion procedures.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment with Reservoir Engineers and Geologists.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with proficiency in written and spoken English.
