Job description
**Position Overview**
A skilled and hands\-on **Fiberglass Boat Manufacturing Foreman** is required to supervise workshop operations and composite fabrication teams in Dubai, UAE. The candidate will oversee the entire fiberglass manufacturing process—from mold preparation and lamination to hull assembly, finishing, and final quality inspection.
This role requires a team leader who can maintain high standards of structural integrity, optimize raw material usage, enforce strict workshop safety, and ensure project deadlines are met.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **Production Supervision:** Oversee daily floor operations in the composite/fiberglass workshop, allocating tasks to laminators, gelcoaters, and assembly technicians.
* **Lamination \& Composite Oversight:** Supervise hand lay\-up, spray lay\-up, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion processes to ensure structural compliance with marine engineering standards.
* **Mold Maintenance \& Preparation:** Ensure proper preparation, repair, fairing, and conditioning of boat molds before each production run.
* **Quality Assurance:** Inspect hulls, decks, and small composite components for defects such as air pockets, delamination, improper resin ratio, or surface imperfections before proceeding to assembly.
* **Material \& Inventory Control:** Track consumption of resins, fiberglass matting, core materials, gels, and catalysts to minimize waste and prevent inventory shortages.
* **Workshop Safety \& Compliance:** Enforce strict PPE usage, chemical storage rules, and proper ventilation/VOC emission controls in accordance with UAE industrial health and safety regulations.
* **Team Leadership:** Train, mentor, and evaluate workshop personnel, fostering a productive and quality\-driven environment.
**Required Qualifications \& Experience**
* **Experience:** 5\+ years of practical experience in fiberglass (GRP/FRP) boatbuilding, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or foreman role within a marine shipyard or boat manufacturing plant.
* **Technical Expertise:** Deep knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques (gelcoating, hand lay\-up, resin infusion, sandwich core construction, gelcoat repair).
* **Blueprint Reading:** Ability to read and interpret marine engineering drawings, composite lay\-up schedules, and structural specifications.
* **Language Skills:** Proficient in English (spoken and written). Working knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog is a strong advantage for effective workshop communication.
* **Location:** Currently based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Dubai.
